1978 Beijing Municipal Committee decided to set up Beijing Tourism Bureau.

1983, according to the unified requirements of the State Council, with the approval of Beijing Municipal Government, Beijing Tourism Bureau was renamed Beijing Tourism Bureau;

1986 The Beijing Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government decided to merge the Municipal Tourism Bureau and the Municipal Hotel Corporation to form the Beijing Tourism Bureau.

In 2000, Beijing Municipal Government decided to rename Beijing Tourism Bureau as Beijing Tourism Bureau.
