What procedures and certificates do you need to travel abroad?

Legal analysis: you need to apply for a passport and visa to travel abroad. Citizens traveling abroad shall apply for an ordinary passport to the exit-entry administration department of the public security organ of the local people's government at or above the county level where their household registration is located.

Legal basis:

1. Passport Law Article 1 This Law is formulated for the purpose of regulating the application, issuance and administration of passports of China people, safeguarding the rights and interests of the people of China and citizens of China to enter and leave China, and promoting foreign exchanges.

2. Article 2 of the Passport Law stipulates that the passport of the People's Republic of China is a document for People's Republic of China (PRC) citizens to enter and leave the country and prove their nationality and identity abroad.

No organization or individual may forge, alter, transfer, intentionally damage or illegally detain passports.
