The Historical Evolution of Hinan Islands

Rinan Island, Rinan Mountain and Rinan Mountain are named Nanni Mountain because it is hidden. During the Song and Yuan Dynasties, it belonged to Fengguli in Chongfu Township. In the 15th year of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty (1667), the garrison commander of Xinghua City joined forces with Zheng Jing (1643- 168 1), the son of Zheng Chenggong, to defend Xinghua City and resist the Qing soldiers. In the 18th year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (1670), Zheng Jingjun moved to Weitou and Meizhou in Rinan, and continued to fight against Qing Dynasty. In the 21st year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (1673), Shi Lang succeeded in attacking Taiwan, and Zheng Keshuang, the son of Zheng Chenggong, led the Nanming regime to surrender, and all the coastal areas of Putian were unified. After reunification, people in southern Japan returned from Hanjiang and other places, while people in Pingtan, Fuqing and Minnan also migrated. 1934, Rinan Island was transferred to Fuqing County, 1935 was changed to a provincial special zone, and 1940 was returned to Putian. After liberation, Rinan Island belongs to 13 area and 1952 area belongs to 24 area. In the early 1950s, Hinan Island became a state again. Rinan Island Martyrs Monument stands on the mountainside of Jianshan Mountain. 1964 was established to commemorate the soldiers of the China People's Liberation Army who died heroically in the Kuomintang army that fought against and counterattacked the island for the second time.

Rinan Town 1955 was named Rinan District, 1957 was called Township, 1958 established Rinan Commune, 1984 changed to Township, and 1993 was renamed Town. 1997 Rinan Town is located in the sea area of Xinghua Bay in the east of Xiuyu District, with an area of 52 square kilometers and a population of 53,000. Administer 17 administrative villages. There are roads and docks around the island.

These islands are strategically located, facing Putian City, Haitan Island and Fuqing City in the west and north respectively, and facing Taiwan Province Province in the southeast.
