The transportation system in Sabah is underdeveloped, but there are direct flights with Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Taipei, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul, Brunei, Manila, Cebu and other international metropolises. There are frequent and convenient land transportation links between towns. Trains are not the main traffic here, and the traffic between islands is generally arranged by travel companies. Only a few islands in Tengku Abdul Rahman Coastal Park near Kota Kinabalu have speedboat service.
1. Aircraft
There are two airports commonly used in Sabah, namely Kota Kinabalu International Airport (1 Terminal), Kota Kinabalu Cheap Airport (Terminal 2) and Douhu International Airport. 1 Terminal 2 is about 5.2 kilometers away, and there is a shuttle bus. It runs every 1 hour from 08:00 to 19:30. One-way fare is RM 5 for adults and RM 3 for children. In addition, from Kota Kinabalu to other cities in Sabah, such as Douhu, Sandakan, Kudat and Lahadatu.
(1) Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA, also known as 1 Terminal)
The largest international airport in Sabah, where most international flights and Malaysia Airlines flights land. The airport is about 7 kilometers away from the city.
Transportation:
1) airport taxi: it takes about 20 minutes to drive to any corner of the city, and the one-way trip is RM 30. You need to buy tickets in advance at the counter in the airport lobby.
2) Airport bus: Wawasan Square is bound for downtown, and it runs every 1 9: 00/hour. One-way fare is RM 5 for adults and RM 3 for children.
(2) Kota Kinabalu Cheap Airport (LCCT is also called Terminal 2)
Low-cost airlines such as AirAsia and Cebu Pacific all landed here. It's about 6 kilometers from the city center.

(3) Douhu International Airport
Located in Douhu City, Sabah, the international airport has a small area. There is a 24-hour taxi service at Douhu Airport, which can take tourists to Semporna Town. The one-way fare is about 95 ringgit/car (4 people). You can also take the bus from Douhu City to the downtown area. The bus operation time is 8:00- 17:00.
2. Train
(1) Sabah National Railway
20 1 1 was reused in February, and a brand-new air-conditioned car was used on the line from Tanjung Aru to Tenan. Besides the two buses on Sunday, there are four trains running between Tanjung Aru and Beaufort every day. On the way, we will pass through Putatan, Kinarat, Papart, Wonka, KiManice, Bangjiawan, Menbakut, beaufort, Rayo and Panji. You can transfer from Beaufort to Dannan. Tickets range from RM 0.40 to RM 7.50.
(2) North Borneo Railway.
This is the only British steam train that continues to be used in Borneo. It has been used since 1800 and has a long history. The renovated train retains the old British colonial style and has a nostalgic and romantic atmosphere. Passengers enjoy the beautiful rural scenery and small towns on the steam train, just like entering and just visiting. The train has five carriages, each of which can carry passengers 16 people. Generally, the package is purchased through a travel company. About RM 330 for adults and RM 200 for children, including brunch and hotel transfer.
Tips: Steam trains only leave on Wednesdays and Saturdays every week.

There are regular ferry and speedboat services between Sandakan and Zamboanga in the southern Philippines. There are daily flights between Douhu and Nunukan in Indonesia. To go to Brunei, you must first take a boat from Kota Kinabalu to Labuan Island, and then transfer to Brunei.
Jeston Wharf Jessel Dundian Wharf
Jeston Port Wharf is located in downtown Kota Kinabalu, and there are ships going to and from Labuan Island, Sapi Island, Manukan Island, Gayana Island, Mamutik Island and Suluge Island in Tengku Adullaman Ocean Park. The operation time is 06:00~ 16:00. Finally, the time to return to Kota Kinabalu from the island is 16:00.
Fares:
1 RM23 for adults and RM8 for children/kloc-0.
Tickets for the two islands are RM 33 for adults and RM 23 for children.
Tickets for 3 islands are RM 43 for adults and RM 30 for children.
Tickets for 4 islands are RM 53 for adults and RM 38 for children.
You need to pay an additional RM 7.2 dock fee when you buy tickets, and RM 10 park maintenance fee after you go to the island (if you go to more than two islands, you only need to pay once).
Tips:
● If you plan to jump three or more islands, you'd better leave before 09:00, otherwise you won't have time to enjoy the beautiful islands.
● Except for several islands in Tengku Abdul Rahman Ocean Park, other famous islands in Sabah must be arranged by tour companies, diving shops and resorts to reach the island. Visitors need to book a package from the travel company in advance, and then the travel company or resort will help you arrange the whole transportation and accommodation.
Step 4 coach
There are three coach stations in Kota Kinabalu:
(1) North Bus Station Inam North Bus Station
Buses to other cities in the north and east leave from here, including Kinabad lu shan, Sandakan, Semporna, Douhu and Lahadatu.
(2) Bus Station of South Bus Station City Park
Buses bound for the south depart from here, including beaufort, Spitang, Brunei and Sarawak.
③ Badong Merdeka
There are buses to beaufort, Lanao, Kudat, Kota Beloud, Kenninggao, Papart, Xipitang and Menongbok. Usually 12-seat and 7-seat vans will leave when they are full.
rent a car
Car rental in Sabah is not expensive, starting from 140 RM per day for a four-person car. There are car rental services in large shopping malls or airports in the city, and the price depends on the model and company. The procedure of renting a car is very simple. Just show me your driver's license and passport. There will be a list when you hand in the car. Check the condition of the car before signing it. You can agree on the place of delivery. Malaysia is on the left and the driver's seat is on the right.

(2) City buses

2. Taxi
Sabah taxis are red and white, don't watch them. 30 ringgit from Kota Kinabalu International Airport to downtown; One-way15 for urban scenic spots hotels; From downtown to water mosque, Tanjung Aru is 20 RM.
From 12: 00 to 6: 00 am, 50% of the fee will be charged. There are not many taxis on the street, but they are usually waiting for customers in shopping centers, long-distance stations and outside hotels. If you want to take a taxi to the airport, please ask the hotel to arrange it for you in advance so as not to be late. Talk about the price before getting on the bus. From Douhu Airport to Semporna, you can find someone to carpool, and a taxi can carry four people. It's 30 RM from Sandakan airport to downtown.
