According to the villagers, they are descendants of Qin Qiong, a famous official in the Tang Dynasty.

Later, a branch of Qin took a fancy to the mountainous terrain of Shuiyuantou Village, and chose this geomantic treasure-house to lay the foundation stone. After years of reproduction, it has gradually formed a scale. At the foot of Houlongshan, a large house was built by the mountain, and the locals called it Qin Family Courtyard.
