ushuaia city description:

ushuaia, the capital of Tierra del Fuego province, is the southernmost city on earth, and it is also a supply transit point for many explorers and tourists to Antarctica. Ushuaia is more than 3 kilometers away from Buenos Aires, but only 8 kilometers away from Antarctica.

ushuaia may not know many people in China, but the lighthouse at the end of the world in the title picture is believed to be more familiar, which is also the place that the protagonist in Leslie Cheung's movie "Spring Break Out" always wants to go.

I first went to ushuaia on business for three months at the end of 211, which is the farthest place from China, equivalent to the other side of the globe.

This is also the closest time for me to get to the South Pole, which is not as far as Beijing to Shanghai. Therefore, I am also very glad that I can take the opportunity of business trip to visit the other side of the world, thinking that this should be a place where I can't come for the second time in my life, so I cherish this opportunity very much.

But I also went to Tierra del Fuego for business twice in the next two years, and maybe I will come here again when I go to the South Pole with 7 seven years later.

The first time I went to ushuaia, it was the local summer. On the coming plane, when I was about to land, I looked down at the snow-capped mountains with unmelted snow. I didn't really see the snow at that time, but I wanted to go to the mountains to see the snow at the weekend (it turned out that my thinking was too simple, and those snow-capped mountains were too far away to walk).

Then I saw that there was a runway on the ground, and the airport with only one runway was built on the land that may have been artificially reclaimed from the sea. After getting off the plane, I found that the only building on the airport is the two-story departure and arrival terminal. The main structure of the building is made of wood, without cement and bricks.

During my business trip in ushuaia, I also visited all corners of the city, because the urban area is really too small.

Although it is a city, it is actually equivalent to the size of a town in China. The buildings are built on the hillside, and the roads in the block are very steep.

There are many souvenir shops in a main street, which are mostly related products such as penguins and lighthouses.

Because of Argentine policy, there are several special duty-free shops, in which cigarettes, wine and chocolate are cheaper than those in airport duty-free shops everywhere. It is said that many Argentines come here to buy cigarettes and wine.

Casinos are also a feature here in ushuaia. There are several casinos in a small place.

Although the city is small, there are many hotels and restaurants, which also shows that there are many people from other places.

I found that there should be these kinds of people coming to ushuaia:

First, tourists who are going to Antarctica are here for the final rest and replenishment;

Second, visitors to ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego National Park and beagle channel

here are very worth visiting;

3. For skiers who come here, I have heard that there is snow on the mountains all year round, so I often see tourists with ski equipment staying in hotels.

4. For those who come here on business like me, because of Argentine policy, the factory in Tierra del Fuego has preferential tax, which has attracted some enterprises to set up factories here.

In ushuaia, I was most impressed by my visit to Tierra del Fuego National Park and beagle channel, two major tourist attractions here.

Tierra del Fuego National Park is a distinctive polar park. It used to be a forest farm, where criminals cut down trees, causing some ecological damage. Later, it was turned into a national park to protect the environment and improve the ecology.

The whole park covers a very large area. My colleagues and I took a taxi for a long time, and along the way we could see fat wild birds, quiet lakes, clean ground, famous forest trains and signs at the southernmost tip of Pan-American Highway.

It's a pity that I didn't see the post office at the end of the world and couldn't send a postcard back.

The beagle channel is a passage from ushuaia to Antarctica, and the world-famous polar lighthouse is on it. In ushuaia, there are several cruise ships going back and forth on beagle channel every day, and the whole process from departure to return takes about 2-3 hours. The main activity of browsing is to climb an uninhabited island to see the vegetation on the island at close range, to watch seabirds and seals near the island where they live, and finally to turn around the lighthouse and come back.

Before I came to Poland, I went to ushuaia three times the day before yesterday, so I would like to say something about it. It is rare that Argentina has fallen from a developed country more than 1 years ago to a developing country now.

In fact, it takes only two or three years to feel the huge difference. In 211, the exchange rate of Abbiso against RMB was almost 1.4, but in 214 it was only about .8.

local people like to hold dollars, and the exchange rate in casinos or black markets is much more cost-effective than that in banks. Ushuaia, because of its small city and special geographical location, has a good public security, but in the capital Buenos Aires, we dare not go out after eight or nine o'clock in the evening. Compared with our China, the public security is very good.

what's more, the air in Tierra del Fuego is really good. It's a pure land.
