What's interesting about Elephant Island in Thailand?

Elephant Island is located in the southeast of Thailand, hence its name. It's called KOH CHANG (KOH Thai (KOH means island, CHANG means elephant). Compared with Thailand's famous islands such as Pattaya, Phuket and Koh Samui, the tourism of Elephant Island is still in the development stage. Some people say that if an island has an airport, it will lose its tranquility and nature, and the local people's thoughts will deteriorate and become no longer simple; Then, surrounded by mountains and not fully developed and destroyed, Elephant Island is a quiet country that stays in time, a real paradise and an ecological paradise. The whole beach of Xiangdao is mostly concentrated in Xitan, and from north to south, it is: Baisha Beach and Klong Prao &;; KAI BAE Beach (Kongpao and Kabei Beach), LONELY Beach and BANG BAO, a small fish village at the southernmost tip of the island. The hotel area on the island is divided into different grades according to the location of the beach to cater to the needs of different tourists. Baishatan belongs to the first developed area, with the most complete facilities on the island. The hotels here are more expensive, and the performances in the beach bar are the most abundant on the island at night. The surrounding tourist service facilities are also complete: chain convenience stores, various shops and bars, large and small restaurants, banks, pharmacies, currency exchange offices, tourist product orders and so on. Further south is Klong Prao &; Kaibei Beach, a newly developed hotel area, has complete service facilities, but the number is small, and the hotel price is relatively cheap. Further south, through the most dangerous rapids on the island, you reach LONELY BEACH, a beach on the southwest coast of the island. This is a backpacker's paradise, full of cheap small hotels and cabins. Many hotels don't have air conditioning, only fans, and many of them are public. Small shops and restaurants are located on both sides of the road, while hotels are built in jungles and coconut groves. What attracts backpackers here is not only the low price, but also the original and unreformed island style. Bangbao, the southernmost tip of Elephant Island, is a small fishing village. Shops and restaurants are located in floating houses on both sides. The long passage in the middle is the only way to the dock, from which all the ships going out to sea and the surrounding outlying islands start. There are all kinds of sea trips in various tourist reserves of Elephant Island dancing with the sea. Generally, I will go to 3-4 sea areas or small islands a day, including simple snorkeling or sea fishing, and the combination of the two. Depending on your interest, you have a wide choice. Pay a part of the deposit in advance, and a car will pick up the guests at the hotel at 8: 30 the next morning and go to Bangbao to board the ship. In the morning, the pier is the most lively place, and tourists from various beaches on the island will arrive here one after another, board their own cruise ships and embark on a journey of dancing with the sea. Cruise ships are big and small, and 40 or 50 people are considered big ships. All-day price is 500-700 b for one person, including BBQ lunch, afternoon tea and snorkeling equipment on board. When the boat returns to the dock at 4 pm, there will be a car to take the guests back to the hotel, which is very convenient for tourists. Xiangdao seawater is pollution-free, crystal clear, and the water quality of the surrounding outlying islands is clearer. This is a good place for snorkeling. Different sea areas have their own characteristics: some are surrounded by magnificent coral reefs; Some are habitats for colorful fish; There is seawater in the same area, which shows different colors due to the background of different marine life. If you want to get close to all kinds of marine life and swim freely at the bottom of the sea like a fish, the best way is undoubtedly deep-sea diving, but it requires professional training and examination. It's too difficult and complicated for me, so I'll settle for the second best, snorkeling. Unlike previous snorkeling in the sea near the beach, this time I was snorkeling in the deep sea with a life jacket and snorkeling tools (a pair of goggles and a tube that can extend out of the sea to provide oxygen for people who are lurking) and flippers. After practicing biting off one end of the pipe and breathing several times on board, I couldn't wait to dive into the water. Through the sunlight, the visibility of the sea water is very high, and the whole underwater world can see clearly: all kinds of small fish swim around me, trying to catch it, and an overturned fish has been hidden in a gap on the bottom of the sea, and I am still tightly sucked on the sea by a life jacket; The corals on the seabed are more striking, amazing and unpredictable against the sun; Anemones sway in the water, cascading like blooming chrysanthemums. Although I only snorkel in the wonderful underwater world, I feel like a free fish, swimming around the sea with free breath and the speed of flippers. Fishing at sea, in addition to enjoying the pleasure of fishing harvest, is not as time-consuming as fishing in the river, especially suitable for beginners to fish. However, the fact is not as simple as I thought. It took me a long time to practice the throwing action repeatedly, and my son and I got nothing. My husband is the most outstanding in the whole ship: catching a small fish as big as the palm of your hand is very fulfilling. It is said that the concentration of fish in different sea areas is different, some catch a bucket of fish for half a day, and there are many big fish, which is related to everyone's skills, but the luck index can not be ignored. Dancing with the sea, if snorkeling is like a cheerful cha-cha and fishing is like an elegant waltz, then surfing and boating are passionate samba. 150B rented a boat for an hour, and we gave full play to its value. 6-7 people paddle in turn, and push the boat to the limit of the naked eye with the help of the waves. The boat bounced up and down in the waves and advanced on the top of the waves, and the excitement caused screams. Rich island flavor In Sanya, the most profound feeling about the island flavor is that tourists wearing bright island clothes can be seen everywhere, but in Xiangdao, except for a casual suit, everyone has a pair of flip-flops on their feet, which suddenly reveals the relaxed and unrestrained style of the island. On beaches and cruise ships, ladies wear three-point swimsuits, even obese old ladies. There are places where three-point swimsuits are specially customized, and you won't be upset because you can't find a swimsuit because of your body problem. I feel embarrassed to walk on the beach in my one-piece swimsuit brought from China, but I think I will wear mine, regardless of others. However, it turns out that wearing a three-point swimsuit is not to keep up with the trend, let alone show off your figure, but to be more practical: after snorkeling on the boat, only fresh water is briefly washed, and then you have to go into the water, so it is inconvenient to change clothes. Wearing a one-piece swimsuit, the whole body is wrapped in wet clothes, which is very uncomfortable. The three-point swimsuit is relatively better. Sunbathing on the beach, three-point sunbathing is also relatively exposed, and you can fully feel the moisture of the sun. It can't be said that the greater the contact area with air and sunshine, the better the mood. The most convenient means of transportation between Elephant Island Beach is a pickup taxi, and it may be more appropriate to call it a stop-and-go bus. Eight or nine people can sit in the back seat of the van, and the beaches of Elephant Island are all connected by the same road, so as long as the direction is the same, there is no problem of detour. The price of taxis is uniform throughout the island. There is only one person between other beaches except Bangbao. I took a taxi several times and sat among a car full of blond people. The car drove very fast on the winding road, mixed with the salty taste of the sea breeze, blowing hair, and the HIP-POP music played in the front seat was faintly heard in the ear. The rich island customs are beyond words. Because most of the beaches in Elephant Island are concentrated on the west coast, there is no sunrise from this position, and in fact, people who come on vacation rarely get up early. But it is an excellent place to watch the sunset: in the evening, the wind slowly rises all over the island, the trees sway, you step on the soft beach or take a nap in a bar, and watch a red sun gradually disappear into the sea, staining a large area of seawater, and the whole beach gradually changes from a quiet and dignified girl during the day to a wild and unrestrained spice girl. At night, various bars occupy the beach during the day, attracting tourists with warm music and wonderful performances. Bars all over the island are gathered in the largest number of white sand beaches, which is why some people think the white sand beaches are too noisy. Besides jazz and rock music, the most attractive performance here is the torch performance. The performers' faces and bodies are painted with paintings similar to those of Indian tribes, and they perform various movements with torches in their hands, sometimes rolling, sometimes turning, and sometimes forming various formations. Against the darkness of the sea at night, the fire is particularly dazzling, and the light emitted illuminates the layers of white waves, where water and fire are intertwined into a wonderful landscape. There are vendors selling Kongming lanterns on the beach. I have heard of Kongming Lantern, but I don't know what it is. The vendors only know about Kongming Lantern, but they don't know the source. At this moment, I felt a sense of pride. I rushed to tell them that Kongming was from China. Of course, I personally experienced the wisdom of the ancient people in China: writing auspicious words on white paper objects similar to lanterns. With the lighting of a string of fireworks, Kongming lanterns rose slowly, and I pinned my blessings and hopes on this beautiful island.
