The Significance of Studying the Tourism Geography of China

Learning the experience of China's tourism geography, I yearned for a distant place and a beautiful or vast or ancient or beautiful paradise on earth since I was a child. Every time I see a good picture or documentary, I can't wait to feel the local customs. Therefore, when I distributed the elective materials at school, I chose Tourism Geography of China without hesitation, and I still remember the field shooting of Jiuzhaigou given to us by the teacher in the first class. At that time, I was deeply immersed in the dreamlike, ethereal and unrepeatable beauty, and the green water was like strips of Petri tape. No wonder people often say that "Huangshan returns without looking at the mountains and Jiuzhai returns without looking at the water", just like a fairy tale world. Therefore, I have a great interest in this course. Fortunately, I met a knowledgeable teacher, whose superb professional knowledge and detailed explanation gave us a deeper understanding of this subject. Studying "Tourism Geography of China" has further deepened my understanding of the course of tourism geography, especially the specific areas in China, and mastered the most distinctive and advantageous tourism resources in each area, as well as the main tourist areas and scenic spots, their tourism values and important tourist routes. Tourism geography is the natural background of tourism and the important premise of tourism development, so learning China tourism geography is the basis of learning tourism management. This course gives me a more comprehensive and systematic understanding of the great rivers and mountains of the motherland. When people ask me what's interesting in China, I won't be speechless. Learning the tourism geography of China, the biggest gain not only stays at the knowledge level, but also greatly broadens my horizons and lays a solid foundation for stepping into the society and tourism industry in the future. As a student majoring in geographic information system, of course, we should learn something useful, and combining GIS can have a great influence on the development of tourism. This paper mainly introduces the function of tourism information query. Tourism has a close relationship with geographical location, such as the distribution of tourist attractions, the location of tourist service facilities, road information and so on. All have corresponding geographical coordinates on the map. And GIS can provide very comprehensive geographical location information. It has the function of managing GIS spatial data, which can integrate extremely rich spatial and non-spatial information on an electronic map, manage it uniformly with information management software, and detect tourism information from a macro perspective.

At present, there is a good development trend to use GIS technology to develop tourist information query system. There are countless tourist information websites managed by information management software on the network, including the specific location of scenic spots, the choice of the best transportation route, the environment of tourist destinations, population density and so on.

In the future, with the further development of GIS technology, tourism information will be combined with personal digital handheld device (PDA for short), which will provide real-time, fast and convenient mobile digital tourism concept for tourists. PDA aims at the tourism industry, integrates tourism resources, adopts modern PDA technology, GIS geographic information processing technology and computer data processing technology, establishes a huge and professional tourism resource database, provides users with all-round and full-time spatial location information and tourism resource information, and can mark and display the geographical location of any tourist attraction where users are located on the electronic map. At the same time, it displays relevant industry information, direction of progress, traffic conditions and other information, so that users can know the situation of local tourism resources in the shortest time, determine their position in real time, understand the geographical information of surrounding areas, and realize electronic information navigation.

The short fifteen courses have benefited me a lot, and I am in awe of the great rivers and mountains of my motherland. I want to fully combine GIS and tourism geography in my future work, and make a modest contribution to the tourism industry in China!
