The "Opinions on Further Strengthening the Popularization of Science and Technology in the New Era" issued recently by the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State requires that the popularization of science should be placed in an equally important position as scientific and technological innovation and promote the comprehensive integration of science popularization into the economy, Political, cultural, social and ecological civilization construction.

How to popularize science? How to guide children's curiosity? The Space Science Popularization Forum, sponsored by the Chinese Science Popularization Writers Association and the China Science Popularization Development Service Center, hosted by the China Space Science Society, and co-organized by the Beijing Institute of Aerospace Exploration Information Technology, was recently held in Beijing, where participating experts conducted in-depth discussions.

In recent years, my country has taken solid steps in building a strong space power. Shenzhou asks the sky, Chang'e captures the moon, Beidou guides the way, Zhurong explores fire, Xihe chases the sun, and Beidou guides the way. Tianhe's "Star Travel" aerospace industry continues to set new records, and the level of aerospace science and technology has achieved leapfrog development. Experts said that space science popularization work has advantages. Children are naturally curious about space. my country's great achievements in the aerospace industry will further stimulate children's curiosity to explore the vast universe and sow the seeds of science.

?Teaching science to children is really interesting and enjoyable. I especially like to look at the eyes of those children, their eyes are full of light. ?At the forum, Liu Yong, a researcher at the National Space Science Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, talked about his long-term experience in science popularization work.

Liu Yong used several metaphors to describe different understandings of science popularization work. ?In the past, we thought that science popularization was like a big kettle pouring water into a cup, that is, scientists teaching scientific knowledge to students. But usually, science popularization work is another scenario. Scientists need to turn knowledge into drops of water and spread it to students, and students will slowly absorb the water like saplings. ?

Experts at the meeting suggested that science and technology workers should bring the interest of science to more young people, so that more people can think about problems in scientific ways and scientific thinking.

?The focus of science education lies in basic education. The primary and secondary school stages are the decisive stage for the formation of students' individual innovative qualities. It is a critical period for cultivating reserve talents for scientific and technological innovation and a sensitive period for guarding curiosity. ?Zheng Yonghe, dean of the Institute of Science Education of Beijing Normal University, said that science education in primary and secondary schools is very important. However, there is currently a shortage of primary school science teachers in our country and insufficient professional quality. In this regard, Zheng Yonghe suggested that a sound science education policy guarantee system should be established and science education laboratory resources should be built to further enhance students' interest in science learning, cultivate innovative thinking, and improve problem-solving abilities. At the same time, the selection and incentive mechanism for outstanding teachers should be strengthened.

To promote the high-quality development of science popularization work in the new era, we need to establish the concept of big science popularization and build a socialized science popularization development pattern that is coordinated by the government, society, and the market. Tang Xiaoyun, deputy director of the China Tourism Academy, believes that the combination of science popularization and tourism can better meet people's diverse and multi-level spiritual, cultural, tourism and leisure needs. The positive interaction between technology and tourism not only brings technology closer to ordinary people, but also gives tourism a deeper meaning and value. Technology experience tourism, including space tourism, will have good market prospects.
