Which city is Xitang Ancient Town?

Xitang Ancient Town belongs to Jiashan County, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province. It is located at the junction of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai, with a superior geographical location. The transportation is convenient, 90 kilometers from Shanghai in the east, 110 kilometers from Hangzhou in the west, and 85 kilometers from Suzhou in the north.

Xitang was included in China’s World Cultural Heritage Preparatory List by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage. It is also one of the first batch of historical and cultural towns in China, a national AAAAA tourist attraction, and won the World Heritage Protection Outstanding Achievement Award. Xitang has a long history and is one of the birthplaces of ancient Wuyue culture. On February 25, 2017, it was newly promoted to a national 5A tourist attraction.

Shipilong

Shipilong is located at the end of Xitang West Street. It is 68 meters long and consists of 216 blocks with a thickness of only three centimeters. Paved with stone slabs, it is the aisle between Wangjia Zunwen Hall and Zhongfu Hall. The skin-thin slate serves as the surface of the sewer, so it is called Shipi Nong. It is 1.1 meters wide at its widest point and only 0.8 meters at its narrowest point. Above it is a narrow strip of sky, so Shipi Nong is known as Xitang's "Line of Sky".

Wufu Bridge

Wufu Bridge is located in Hong Kong, east of the Ni Tianzeng Ancestral Residence Exhibition Hall. It is a single-hole stone slab bridge with a length of 14 meters and a span of 7.5 meters. It is the oldest existing bridge in Xitang. One of the oldest bridges, it was built in the Zhengde period of the Ming Dynasty and repaired in the 27th year of Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty (1901).

The Button Museum is located on West Street. It has six exhibition halls: ancient button exhibition area, modern button exhibition area, modern button exhibition area, and shell button production area. In the process flow display area, button application area, and Chinese knot display area, there are masters in the museum who will perform the shell button production process on-site.

Ming and Qing Wood Sculpture Museum

The Ming and Qing Wood Sculpture Museum is located in the north of Hong Kong. The museum displays more than 250 wood carvings of residential buildings in the Jiangnan area represented by Xitang since the Ming and Qing Dynasties, including beam frames, beam pads, supporting arches, sparrows, and lattice windows.
