Liaoyang has many famous historical and cultural landscapes and scenic spots; Historical and cultural landscapes mainly include tomb murals in Han and Wei Dynasties, Yanzhou City (Baiyancheng) in Goguryeo in Tang Dynasty, Liulijing in Babao, Baita in Liao Dynasty, Qingfeng Temple in Ming Dynasty and ancient city wall ruins, etc. In Qing Dynasty, Tokyo City, Tokyo Mausoleum, famous monument of Cao, Cao Xueqin Memorial Hall, etc. Natural landscapes include the scenic Tanghe Scenic Area, the scenic Hehuogou Natural Scenic Area, the lush Shidonggou Forest Park, the rippling snail reservoir tourist area, the winding Taizi River, the karst Ancient Karst Cave-Guanyin Cave formed 400 million years ago and the wonders of the cold cave in Gusaocheng, which is frozen all year round.

Liuwo Reservoir is located in the east of Nansha Village, Gongchangling District, Liaoyang City, in the middle of the main stream of Taizi River, between Benxi and Liaoyang. It is formed by the confluence of three main rivers: Taizi River, Xihe River and He Lan. It is one of the large reservoirs in Liaoning Province and the only reinforced concrete gravity dam in Liaoning Province. Qiwo Reservoir, built in 1973, is a multipurpose water control project integrating flood control, irrigation and power generation. 1980 was listed as a provincial scenic tourist area in the early 1980s.

Liaoyang Museum is located between Sandao Street and Sidao Street in the city. In July 2002, it was listed as a national AA-level scenic spot by the Provincial Tourism Bureau. It is located in Peng Museum, the official slogan headquarters of the former three northeastern provinces, with an area of 10000 square meters and a building area of 1500 square meters. Taizihe Scenic Area is located on the Taizihe River in the east of Liaoyang City, with a total length of 3,260 meters, starting from Beishaozha Bridge in the north and reaching Manshui Guan Qiao in the south. It is connected with the urban area in the west and Hedong Village in the east, with an average width of 750 meters from east to west and a total area of 240 hectares.
