Yunfu Travel: In the Panlong Cave in this small town in Guangdong, a unique "flower" grows in the country.

Yunfu can be regarded as the least existing prefecture-level city in Guangdong. But during this trip, I discovered that in this obscure little town, there is a unique wonder in the country.

Daily life in Panlong Cave

1

This place was developed into a scenic spot as early as 1985, and the 35 yuan ticket includes interpretation services.

Everyone lined up at the door, and each group of about ten tourists entered in batches.

The guide accompanied me throughout the whole process, and she was very willing to cooperate. This photo of traveling through the "time and space tunnel" was the model she modeled for me.

2

Panlong Cave contains the only wonder in China and only three in the world: the gem flower.

This kind of "cave flower" grows on the rock wall at the top of the cave. It has ice flesh and jade bones, and proud thorns.

This flower also has two "aliases":

One is called "the love flower that never fades". Because it is white and crystal clear, otherworldly, immortal and independent after hundreds of thousands of years. In people's minds, this is the most appropriate symbol of eternal love;

Another name is "the flower that made Newton angry". Because some experts pointed out that the growth of gem flowers is not restricted by gravity.

It does not fall vertically like other stalactites, but clings to the rock wall and blooms in all directions.

I took a photo of the longest group, which is about half an arm long. It is 350,000 years old and is still "alive", growing at a rate of 1cm every 10,000 years.

Because of the gem flowers, Panlong Cave is praised by the World Cave Association as one of the "three major stone flower caves in the world". The other two are far away in the United States and Turkey; because of the gem flowers, Panlong Cave also uniquely wins this "national reputation". "The only" name.

3

There are many stones in Panlong Cave, which naturally resemble Bodhisattvas.

At first we mistakenly thought that these were placed artificially. A stone cave is deep, and in the hollow stands one or several Buddha statues sitting cross-legged, which is endlessly mysterious.

Yunfu is mountainous and has developed stone art. In the development process of the quarrying industry for more than 400 years, the images of stone carvings since the early days have mostly been figures rich in traditional Chinese culture such as Maitreya Buddha and Guanyin.

So in a sense, Panlong Cave is also like a "Buddha Cave". Many good men and women come here to pray for blessings and peace.

4

Among the dozens of cave scenic spots I have visited, Panlong Cave is not the most beautiful, but it has extremely high archaeological research value.

In the 1980s, archaeologists discovered the skeleton fossils of 23 ancient animals in this cave with a history of more than 170 million years, as well as human beings with a history of hundreds of thousands of years ago. They are called "Panlong Cave People" due to their tooth fossils.

In the Yunfu Museum, there is a small exhibition hall specially prepared for Panlong Cave, which shows how valuable it is.

5

Panlong Cave is the only paid "A" level attraction in Yunfu city (as far as I know).

This seemingly inconspicuous 3A scenic spot has triggered my new thinking and new understanding of things like "scenic spots" -

From now on, I should not just rely on The number of "A"s in front of a scenic spot's name determines whether it is worth visiting.

In this vast world, the formation of each cave is a masterpiece of nature.

For human beings who are a drop in the ocean, the real scenery of hundreds of millions of years before our eyes is something more real than the so-called "eternity" we talk about. How lucky we are to be able to experience the world freely in this limited life. This personal experience cannot be measured by money.

The appearance of Panlong Cave

In fact, I had some different feelings about Panlong Cave when I was outside the cave.

There are many mountains in Yunfu City, and the vegetation on the mountains is extremely dense.

Such an overwhelming sense of mature richness cannot be achieved by manpower, but is created by nature after hundreds of millions of years.

Judging from the buffalo and sambar fossils unearthed from Panlong Cave in Yunfu, this place was once a shallow grass swamp with fertile water and grass hundreds of thousands of years ago. According to the formation rules of the cave, it is inferred that There must be abundant groundwater here.

In my country, the most famous caves are mostly concentrated in Guangxi Province, and Yunfu is located near the water.

It is adjacent to Wuzhou City in Guangxi. Many natural scenery are karst landforms similar to Guilin's landscape. Panlong Cave in Yunfu is also a typical karst cave. However, the gem flowers in Panlong Cave are not even found in the Seven Star Rocks in Guilin.

The overall area of ??Panlong Cave is not large, and the tourable part is 528 meters long. The overall terrain trend is like a giant dragon rising into the sky.

Like other caves, Panlong Cave also has many lifelike scenery. According to the different shapes of the stone bodies, they have also been given various strange names, and most of the names are related to "dragon".

In the eyes of me, an ordinary tourist, the appearance of these stones is very different from ordinary caves.

Most of the stalactites in other caves grow vertically in a regular manner, and after hundreds of thousands of years, they grow into thick and long pillars that reach the sky;

But in Yunfu Panlong Cave, The stalactites inside grow "divergently", not "one", but one, one, and one piece.

They are more like shells, like crystals, like tents...

Others are dripping, just like those who were knocked down and stuck to the ground in "Terminator" Robots lying on their backs, pulling out silk threads, struggling to stand up...

Some "rubbles" grow low in patches, accompanied by the colorful light of the nebula, as if they have traveled through the stars. cosmic blockbuster.

There are also densely packed small pits on the stone walls, just like the insect holes in the documentary, covered with "mutated eggs".

In addition to the gem flowers, there are also several rocks in Panlong Cave that are truly amazing sights.

①, Jade umbrella tent. There are no crowded tourists or noisy sounds. Watching it quietly and carefully, it is really as pure and beautiful as the white curtain in the wedding room.

②, seven fairies. Seven naturally formed thin stalagmites are located next to the "Nine Dragon Corridor" in the middle of Panlong Cave.

Not far from the "Seven Fairies" is the "Golden Dragon Entering the Account".

The stone walls of these two landscapes have been processed with electronic projection technology. One side tells the legendary story of the Seven Fairies, and the other side shows the "Golden Dragon" flying into the Yaochi Wonderland of the Aqua Dragon Palace.

③, Dinghai Shenzhen.

Compared with the giant pillar that stood tall in the sky and the ground that I saw in "Asia's largest single cave" before, the "needle" in Panlong Cave is obviously much lower. But it is even more special, consisting of several "needles" standing in disorder.

Probably the old Dragon King didn't want Sun Wukong to know which one was the real golden hoop, so he made "real and fake golden hoops" to confuse the monkey.

④, Glacier Waterfall.

When approaching the exit, looking down from the high staircase, you can see a "deep valley". The stone walls on one side have majestic textures, like a snow-capped mountain sanctuary. Under the shining lanterns, the "snow" has not melted for a long time and is pure and white.

Many of the stalactites and rocks I saw in Panlong Cave were pure white. People seem to be more willing to give them the name of love, and in my mind, they represent the small town itself -

Only more than 100 kilometers away from the first-tier big cities, Yunfu is Guangdong It is one of the few clean towns in the province that is not contaminated by glitz and glamor.

Postscript

Panlong Cave can be said to be the best-located scenic spot in Yunfu, located on the Lion Rock beside Panlong Lake in the city center.

If you walk along the park, you can see the entrance of the cave.

The cave is divided into three layers. The upper layer is a "sky cave" where human and animal bone fossils are found; the Kowloon Corridor in the middle layer is the most concentrated part of the landscape; the lowest layer It's an underground river.

But as of now, this geyser hidden deep underground is not open to tourists. In the past years, the underground river water here has been extremely unstable. Just like a child's temper, it usually "cats" in the cave, and will come out when the mood strikes, causing the temper to wash away. Over time, it erodes such a special cave and stone group. .
