What does the market index mean? What's the difference between the market and Shenzhen Stock Exchange?
The market index refers to the index of all stocks listed on the mainland. There are two stock exchanges in Chinese mainland, Shanghai Stock Exchange and Shenzhen Stock Exchange. Shanghai Composite Index refers to the index of all stocks listed in Shanghai, and Shenzhen Composite Index refers to the index of all stocks listed in Shenzhen. The market index refers to the Shanghai Composite Index and the Shenzhen Composite Index. The Shanghai Stock Exchange Index and Shenzhen Stock Exchange Index are interrelated and separated, because it is impossible for a country to see the stocks listed in Shanghai go up and the stocks listed in Shenzhen go down, so the connection lies in that sometimes everyone goes up and down together. What I mean by separation is that the Shanghai Composite Index only represents the index of the Shanghai Stock Exchange and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Index only represents the index of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
