At 6 am on July 3, the Central Meteorological Observatory cancelled all typhoon warning signals.

20 13 On June 30th, Wambia continued to approach. Lin Jingzhi, Senior Scientific Officer of the Hong Kong Observatory, told the media in the weather report that the Observatory would issue Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.1 at night and consider issuing Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.3 the next morning (July 1 day). However, the Observatory once again failed to issue a "special weather warning" on its website. As Wambia entered within 800 kilometers of Hong Kong around 7 pm, the Observatory issued the No.1 alert signal at 9 pm 10, when Wambia was assembled about 720 kilometers south-southeast of Hong Kong. In the tropical cyclone warning, the Observatory once again indicated that the wind force in Hong Kong will gradually increase the next day, and considered issuing the No.3 signal in the morning.

On July 2065438+2003 1 day, the Observatory indicated that Wambia moved westward, but with the acceleration of Wambia and signs of strengthening, the wind in Hong Kong will begin to strengthen in the afternoon, followed by violent storms. In the morning, the Observatory predicted that "Signal No.3 will be issued in the next few hours", but it was changed to Signal No.3 in the afternoon, and it was predicted that Wambia would be closest to Hong Kong at night, passing more than 300 kilometers southwest of Hong Kong. The observatory issued the No.3 strong wind signal at 6: 438 pm. At that time, Wambia was concentrated about 400 kilometers south-southwest of Hong Kong, and significantly intensified into a severe tropical storm. The observatory also pointed out that unless Wambia takes the northbound route, it is unlikely to send a higher signal. At 8: 45 pm, the Observatory said that Wambia "will be closest to Hong Kong in the next few hours, passing about 400 kilometers southwest of Hong Kong", and it is expected that the No.3 signal will be maintained for some time at night. With the approach of Wambia, Hong Kong was affected by strong winds and showers that afternoon. Strong winds blew to the east and recorded more than 20 mm of rainfall. After nightfall, Hong Kong turned to the southeast wind, and the wind continued to reach strong winds in some areas, and the highlands were affected by the southeast wind. Wembia is closest to Hong Kong from the evening of July/KLOC-0 to the morning of July 2, and it passes about 380 kilometers from the west-southwest direction of Hong Kong.

In the early morning of July 2, Wambia began to move away from Zhanjiang, and the wind in Hong Kong began to weaken. At 1: 45 in the morning, the Observatory indicated that it would consider changing the tropical cyclone warning signal No.1, and at 4: 45 in the morning, it indicated that the signal No.1 would be changed in the short term. At 5: 00 am10, the Observatory changed the No.1 alarm signal. At that time, Wambia was located about 420 kilometers west-southwest of Hong Kong. The Observatory said that all tropical cyclone warning signals will be cancelled when the threat of Wambia to Hong Kong is lifted. When Wambia was about 480 kilometers west of Hong Kong, the Observatory cancelled all tropical cyclone warning signals at 9: 40 am.

During the validity of tropical cyclone warning signal No.3, strong winds were detected in three of the eight automatic weather stations designated by the Observatory's wind network, and only 1 station was needed to reach the standard. During the storm, Cheung Chau, Airport and Sai Kung recorded the highest average wind speed 10 minute, with average wind speeds of 58, 46 and 44 kilometers per hour respectively. At one time, the wind speed in Kai Tak and Liufushan was almost equal to strong wind. Victoria Harbour is also affected by strong winds. The automatic weather station at Star Ferry Pier in Kowloon recorded the highest record of 65,438+00 minutes, with an average wind speed of 47 kilometers per hour. The above data prove that although the wind force of this storm is slightly weaker than that of Tropical Cyclone Bebija, which hit Hong Kong more than a week ago, it is still appropriate and necessary for the Observatory to issue the No.3 signal this time. Local highest tropical cyclone warning signal: typhoon signal no.3.

On the afternoon of June 30th 10, Wambia gradually approached Macao, so the Macao Geophysical and Meteorological Bureau hoisted typhoon 1 [5].

On the afternoon of July 1 Sunday 1: 30, the Meteorological Bureau hoisted the No.3 typhoon signal on the grounds that the wind was getting stronger and Wambia was approaching. The Macao Education and Youth Bureau announced that classes in pre-school education and special education will be closed in the afternoon, while classes in middle schools and primary schools will be closed as usual. The Meteorological Bureau pointed out that whether the No.8 southeast wind ball is hoisted at night depends on the situation. It is not very different from the chance of changing to a higher typhoon signal indicated by the Hong Kong Observatory. However, at 7 pm, typhoon signal No.3 is expected to last for some time. Wembia will be closest to Macau from 8: 00 pm to 10, but there is little chance of changing to a higher typhoon signal. At that time, Wembia gathered 350 kilometers away from Macau.

On July 2, with the departure of Wambia, the Meteorological Bureau cancelled all typhoon signals at 6: 30 in the morning.
