Where is Lhasa and which province does it belong to?
Lhasa, also known as Luoxue and Sunlight City, is a prefecture-level city and the capital of Xizang Autonomous Region. It is an international tourist city with national characteristics and snowy plateau in China approved by the State Council, covering an area of 29,640 square kilometers. By the end of 2020, there will be three districts and five counties in the city with a permanent population of 86,789110,000.
Lhasa is located in the southwest of China, in the middle of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, on the north side of the Himalayas, in the valley plain of the middle reaches of the Lhasa River, a tributary of the Yarlung Zangbo River, where the Lhasa River flows and joins the Yarlung Zangbo River in the southern suburbs. It is the political, economic, cultural, scientific and educational center of Tibet and the holy land of Tibetan Buddhism, with an altitude of 3,650 meters. It is sunny all year round.
The annual sunshine time is more than 3000 hours, and it is known as the Sunshine City. Lhasa is rich in all kinds of resources, which has obvious advantages compared with other cities in China and the autonomous region.
Customs and habits in Lhasa:
Lhasa New Town, with Potala Palace and Barkhor Street as the center, Sera Temple in the north and Duilong Deqing County in the west, overlooks the urban area of Lhasa. The post and telecommunications building, news building, Lhasa Hotel, Tibet Hotel and various buildings all over the place are intertwined and glow with new brilliance.
Standing on the top of Potala Palace overlooking the whole city of Lhasa, the whole city of Lhasa is a new building hidden in green trees. Only Barkhor Street is full of flags and mulberry smoke. Here, houses and streets with ethnic styles are densely packed with people from all over Tibetan areas.
Many of them still wear their traditional costumes, and they never seem to leave their prayer wheels and prayer beads, which clearly shows that Buddhism has actually become a way of life.
