Jiao's Cai Yong Rescue

Cai Yong (A.D. 132- 192), a native of Chenliupi County (now Qixian County, Henan Province) in the Eastern Han Dynasty, was a famous writer, historian, musician and calligrapher in the history of China. Cai Yong is filial and knowledgeable since childhood, and likes to recite chapters, mathematics and astronomy. He was familiar with the historical events of the Han Dynasty, determined the figures of the Six Classics, wrote his own book on the tablet, and was known as Xiping Shijing, which was a model of official script in ancient and modern times. He created "Flying White Style", wrote "On Pen" and "Nine Potential", and later generations respectfully called him "the originator of calligraphy". Cai Yong's Wei Jiaoqin is a masterpiece, and the story about Cai Yong's rescue of Qin is also widely circulated among the people, with different opinions. When Han offered the emperor, he worshipped Zuo Zhonglang, so later generations also called him "Cai Zhonglang". Cai Yong is very honest, honest and frank, and there is no room for any sand in his eyes. For some bad phenomena, he always dares to speak frankly to the spirit emperor. In this way, he had more conflicts with the spirit emperor, and the spirit emperor gradually hated him. In addition, the eunuchs around Lingdi also hate and fear his integrity. They often spread rumors and slander in front of the spiritual emperor, saying that he is arrogant and may rebel sooner or later. Cai Yong's situation is getting more and more dangerous. Knowing that he had become a thorn in the side of Emperor Ling, he was in danger of being hurt at any time, so he packed his bags and fled the capital by water, far away to Emperor Wu, and lived in seclusion. Cai Yong loved music, and he himself was proficient in melody and classicism. Even the slightest mistake in playing can't escape his ears. Cai Yong is particularly good at playing the piano and has a lot of research on it. He has a set of incisive and original views on the selection, production and tuning of piano. When he fled Beijing, he abandoned many possessions, but he was always reluctant to leave his beloved piano at home and take it with him from time to time to take care of it.

In those days when Wudi lived in seclusion, Cai Yong often played the piano, expressing his grief and indignation at being persecuted and lamenting the bleak future.

One day, Cai Yong was sitting in her room fumbling, and the landlady was cooking in the kitchen next door. She stuffed firewood into the kitchen, and the sparks jumped and the firewood burned.

Suddenly, Cai Yong was surprised to hear the crisp crackling sound coming from the next room. He listened carefully for a few seconds, shouted "No", jumped up and ran to the kitchen. When he came to the fire, Cai Yong reached out and pulled out the paulownia wood that had just been stuffed into the stove as firewood. He shouted: "Don't burn it, don't burn it, it's a rare good material for piano!" " Cai Yong's hand was burned, and he didn't feel pain. He was blowing and touching it in surprise on the paulownia tree. Fortunately, the rescue was timely and the paulownia was still intact, so Cai Yong bought it. Then carefully carved, meticulous and painstaking, and finally made this piece of paulownia into a piano. This piano is beautifully played and its timbre is unparalleled in the world.

This piano has been handed down and become a rare treasure in the world. Because its tail is burnt, people call it "Wei Jiaoqin".

Later generations had a couplet saying, "The Emperor Ling walked as an upper general without pearls, and Jiao Tong was lucky to cut the famous piano." . "New Story" Jiaozuo: Yi Musheng

During the reign of Emperor Ling of the Han Dynasty, there was a Confucian scholar named Cai Yong in Chen Liu, who was generous and especially loved piano, chess, calligraphy and painting. In order to study, Cai Yong bid farewell to his parents and went to Luoyang, Kyoto to study. Soon, he became famous and was reused by the court. After becoming an official, Cai Yong devoted himself to studying Confucianism and put forward many useful suggestions to the court. Later, he wrote many articles to expose the shortcomings of current politics, offended the emperor, annoyed the powerful minister and was expelled from the court. Soon, the court arrested him again. Cai Yong then fled the capital. On this day, the weather is very hot. Cai Yong has been gone for a long time and no one has been seen. He was hungry and sleepy, so he rested in the shade under the cliff. After a while, Cai Yong fell asleep against the stone wall. In a daze, he heard the sound of water droplets: "Ding Dong Ding Dong Dong Dong Dong Dong Dong Dong Dong Dong Dong Dong Dong Dong". The voice was rhythmic and clear, and he suddenly woke up and followed the sound to find it. I saw that the cliff was about ten feet high and there was a wide crack from the top to the bottom. There is a circular pool under the rock, and there are water drops on it, which reverberate in this rock cave. It's really great. He was so drunk that he forgot that he was on the run. He took a few sips of water. Ah, that's cool. He immediately felt refreshed and refreshed. Suddenly behind him stood a smiling white-haired old man, who was busy saluting the old man. I saw an archer and a hunting fork hanging from the old man's waist. He has hunted some pheasants and rabbits. Through conversation, I learned that the old man's surname is Lin and he is an Orion. Old man Lin likes Cai Yong very much, so he invited him to his home. In Lin's home, Cai Yong met Lin's wife and granddaughter Emerald. A family of three is busy cooking. The cooking stoves in this place are different from the original ones. Some logs can be put in for burning without opening them. Cai Yong saw that the three of them were busy cooking, so he went out to enjoy the scenery of the mountains, and it seemed that he could still hear the sound of water droplets. Suddenly, Cai Yong heard the sound of wood burning and exploding in the kitchen hall, which seemed to touch his nerves. He was so anxious that he shouted, "Stop burning and put out the fire!" Cai Yong anxiously dragged the burning wood out of the kitchen hall to water the fire. Lin Laohan's family of three were stunned by his exclamations and overwhelming movements. wait for a while waited for a while and looked at him quietly. At this time, Cai Yong realized his gaffes and hurried to salute the old man's family. This piece of wood is very useful, but it is a pity to burn it. He asked the old man to give it to him. Cai Yong stared at the charred wood in the yard first, and then chopped it with a knife and axe. Jade looked at him curiously and asked what the wood was for. He asked Jade if she knew music, but Jade shook her head and said she didn't. After many days of fiddling, Cai Yong finally made the piece of wood into a piano, but the end of the piano still showed signs of burning, so it was named Jiaoweiqin. This piano plays with excellent sound quality, which is even better than the famous piano in the palace. Cai Yong played and sang, and all three of them were stunned. Lin Lao sighed and said, it's a pity that I still don't know what kind of tree this wood is, Mr. Cai. Do you understand? Cai Yong shook his head and said, I don't know what tree it is, only its sound quality. Just like people, don't ask about birth ranking, just look at talent. Lin Laohan was deeply impressed and wanted to betroth his granddaughter Emerald to him. Cai Yong said, I'm a man pursued by the imperial court. Don't hurt Jade. Lin Lao said that the sky is high and the emperor is far away. I don't know what fugitives there are in this mountain village. But Cai Yong has always disagreed. However, Cai Yong stayed here for more than half a year and got along well with the old Lin family, turning Jade into a musician. On one occasion, Cai Yong passed by Wuxian and saw a porter tied a tripod with three sticks by the river, and a large iron pot was hung on it to boil water. After lighting the fire, he went to fetch water. The burning wood gave off a peculiar smell of maple trees in the crackle. Cai Yong looked forward curiously. It turned out to be an old paulownia puzzle caught fire. He quickly pulled out the piece of wood, put out the fire, held it in his hand, studied it carefully and stroked it. Then the porter who started the fire came back and asked Cai Yong why he made a fire with smoked wood. Cai Yong said, "Do you know? This is a good plane tree, which is a good material for piano, but you burned it as firewood. Will you sell it? How much is it? " The porter said, "since you are useful, take it." Cai Yong deeply thanked the porter. When I returned to my residence, I began to carve it into a lyre. Because the end of the lyre is just in the burnt place, I named it Jiaoweiqin. This symphony is listed as one of the four famous guqin in China, along with Zhong Qin in Qi Huangong, Lingliangqin in Chu Zhuangwang and Luqiqin in Sima Xiangru.
