What is the distance between cars to be safe?

In daily life

Following a car is very common.

However, as the roads become more and more blocked,

Car following is becoming a "technical activity" more and more.

It is said that distance produces beauty.

This is especially true when driving.

Once you get too close to the car,

Accidents are prone to occur.

Therefore, whenever we talk about following the car, we are often reminded to keep a safe distance. Then the question comes: How far is the "safe distance"? ?

Safe distance stipulated by law: According to the current law, when a motor vehicle is driving on expressway and its speed exceeds 100 km/h, it should keep a distance of more than 100 m from the vehicle in front of the same lane; When the vehicle speed is lower than per hour100km, the distance from the vehicle in front of the same lane may be shortened appropriately, but the minimum distance shall not be less than 50m. ?

Article 81 of the Regulations for the Implementation of the Law of the People's Republic of China on Road Traffic Safety: When a motor vehicle runs on the expressway, it shall abide by the following provisions in case of low visibility meteorological conditions such as fog, rain, snow, dust and hail.

(a) when the visibility is less than 200 meters, turn on the fog lights, low beam lights, position lights and front and rear position lights, the speed shall not exceed 60 kilometers per hour, and keep a distance of more than 100 meters from the vehicle in front of the same lane; ?

(2) When the visibility is less than 100 meters, turn on fog lights, low beam lights, position lights, front and rear position lights and hazard warning flashlights, the speed shall not exceed 40 kilometers per hour, and keep a distance of more than 50 meters from the vehicle in front of the same lane; ?

(3) When the visibility is less than 50 meters, turn on fog lights, low beam lights, position lights, front and rear position lights and hazard warning flashlights, and the speed shall not exceed 20 kilometers per hour, and leave expressway from the nearest exit as soon as possible.

How to judge the safe distance in actual driving? ?

Strictly speaking, there is no absolute standard for safe distance, but a dynamic standard, and the most direct and important factor is speed. The faster the vehicle speed is, the braking force, braking distance and reaction time will increase accordingly, so the question of "how far is the safe distance" needs to refer to the specific driving speed.

1. Reference safety distance corresponding to vehicle speed?

The vehicle speed should be above 100km/h and the safe distance should be above 100 m;

When the vehicle speed is above 60km/h and below 100km/h, the safe distance can be equal to the vehicle speed, for example, the vehicle speed is 90km/h and the safe distance is 90 meters;

The vehicle speed is about 50km/h, and the safe distance is not less than 50m.

The vehicle speed is below 40km/h and the safe distance is not less than 30m.

2. Driving skills to keep a safe distance.

Look at the distance confirmation card

In expressway, there are generally warning signs and distance confirmation auxiliary lines to help drivers keep a safe distance. The distance of each group of lane separation lines in expressway is15m, and it should be kept about 7 groups away from the preceding vehicle during normal driving; When the speed is lower than 100km/h, at least four groups of intervals shall be maintained. ?

In the urban area, the safe distance should be consistent with the speed of the car under the condition that the car and the road are unobstructed. When you are in traffic jam, you should control your speed, follow the car in front, don't be distracted or play with your mobile phone, and pay attention to the situation in front. Don't follow big cars, operating vehicles, etc.

Because the cart is too big, it will cause a blind spot of vision. No matter in the city or in expressway, you should try to avoid driving behind a big car. Operate vehicles, such as taxis and buses. It is often necessary to stop and pick up passengers, so it is easy to scrape or rear-end because you can't avoid following the car. ?

In order to control the speed, there are lane classification and speed limit signs on expressway. Drivers should strictly follow the speed limit of the corresponding lane, and don't drive at overspeed or turtle speed. Increase the safe distance in bad weather.

Pay more attention to bad weather. In case of fog, rain, snow, dust, hail and other weather with low visibility, the distance between cars should be more than doubled accordingly, and the car condition should be observed at any time to prevent rear-end collision. ?
