The monk Bianji, who had been infamous for all eternity, finally sacrificed his life for his love.

Tsangyang Gyatso once wrote a poem: In this world, I have both peace and harmony, and I will live up to the Tathagata and live up to you. And in the distant prosperous age of the Tang Dynasty, there once was a young eminent monk like him who knelt at the feet of the Buddha and expressed the same emotion. He said: "I can let go of worldly fame and fortune, but I can't let go of Gao Yang. Buddha! Please show me a clear path for my disciples." The aloof Buddha's golden body has a compassionate face, and amid the incense smoke, the young monk is feeling intense in his heart. struggle. After a long time, he finally got up and walked out of the hall. In the morning mist, a crisp female voice called him: "Bianji." Step by step, he slowly walked towards the beautiful lady with a beautiful smile, and towards his inevitable end.

This is the story of Monk Bianji and Princess Gaoyang.

In 619 AD, Bianji was born in an ordinary family in Jinhua, Zhejiang. The young Bianji was handsome, extraordinary, and devoted to Buddhism. In 634 AD, the 15-year-old Bian Ji traveled thousands of miles to Chang'an and became a disciple of the famous mage Dao Yue. The simple meals and strict rules and precepts in the temple tempered his mind, and Master Daoyue's profound attainments and careful teaching laid his foundation. Day after day, year after year, Bian Ji always devotes himself to studying Buddhist scriptures.

In 645 AD, Master Xuanzang returned to the Tang Dynasty after going through all kinds of hardships to retrieve the scriptures. Most of the precious Buddhist scriptures he brought back were in Sanskrit and needed to be translated into Chinese characters in order to save all sentient beings. At this time, Bianji, who was only 25 years old, was elected as one of the nine great virtues in Zhuwen because of his talent, knowledge and proficiency in Buddhism. After assisting Xuanzang in translating scriptures, he also helped write the book "Records of the Western Regions of the Tang Dynasty". Suddenly, Bianji became famous, and everyone knew about this young and promising monk. Including Gao Yang, who is now a married woman.

Who is Gao Yang? She was the most beloved daughter of Emperor Taizong Li Shimin of the Tang Dynasty, who created the prosperous age of the Tang Dynasty and was revered as the Khan of Heaven by the foreign tribes from all over the world. This darling girl of Heaven had acquired a status and wealth that ordinary people could not achieve since she was a child. According to historical records, Li Shimin had more than 30 children throughout his life. In addition to doting on Princess Mingda, the daughter of Empress Changsun, his favorite was Princess Gaoyang, who had a similar temperament to him. Therefore, after this daughter grew up, Li Shimin took great pains to choose Fang Xuanling's second son Fang Yiaizhao as his consort.

One is a noble and beautiful princess of the Tang Dynasty, and the other is a young talent with a prominent family background. The family is well matched, the flowers are full and the moon is full. The royal family expressed its praise and comfort to the meritorious officials, while the courtiers expressed the family's loyalty to the royal family. Everyone is happy to see this marriage come to fruition. So on a good and auspicious day, Gao Yang, dressed in fine clothes, got married.

However, although Fang Yiai came from a wealthy family, he also had an arrogant father like Fang Xuanling. But he really didn't inherit much of the talent of Fang Xiang. How could Gao Yang, such a proud person, fall in love with such a man with well-developed limbs and a simple mind? Her married life was actually not happy. But at the same time, she also knew that this marriage was related to the country, the country, and the country, so no matter how unbearable Fang Yi's love was, she could not change it. Just live like this! Gao Yang said to himself.

Until she met the debate machine.

It was a sunny day. In order to please his wife, Fang Yiai invited Gao Yang to the countryside to watch him hunt. But he didn't expect that the weather was too hot, and before he could show off his heroic figure, something was wrong with him. In the wilderness, I had to find a place for the princess to rest. Fang Yiai thought about it and finally came up with a wonderful place, which was Bianji's thatched cottage.

The story quietly begins here.

The young and energetic princess had long been very curious about this young eminent monk who was famous in the Tang Dynasty, so as soon as Fang Yiai said it, she agreed to her husband's proposal.

The carriage arrived at Bianji’s thatched cottage. Someone came out to greet him.

Gao Yang raised his eyes and saw that the man was dressed in plain white monk robes, with a cold appearance, like a celestial being. She suddenly thought of a sentence by Shan Tao from Jin Dynasty praising Ji Zhongsan's grace: "The rock is as independent as a solitary pine, and the jade mountain is about to collapse."

She was fascinated by it for a while, until The maid who was personally serving him called out several times before she came back to her senses. Fang Yiai, who was very nervous next to him, didn't notice anything strange about his wife at all. After settling Gao Yang, he continued to hunt with his large group of people with undiminished interest.

I don’t know the origin of love, but I am passionate about it.

Their eyes met, and Bianji understood the undisguised admiration and obsession in his eyes. His calm heart was as if a stone had been thrown into it, making it chaotic. After that, there was the scene at the beginning. No matter how profound the Buddha Dharma is, no matter how I have no desires or pursuits, how can I escape your beauty and tenderness.

Here we have to talk about Fang Yiai again. After learning about the affair between Bianji and Gao Yang, he not only did not get angry, but he calmly accepted the maid given by Gao Yang to apologize, and fought for this unethical love for four years. Covered.

But how can the stolen time last forever? In 649 AD, Bianji's thatched cottage was stolen, and the golden pillow given to him by Gao Yang was stolen. Under a detailed investigation by the government, the two had an affair.

One is a married princess of the Tang Dynasty, and the other is a well-known eminent monk.

Suddenly, public opinion was in an uproar and the emperor was furious.

Li Shimin ignored Gao Yang's pleading and ordered the defense machine to be cut in half. He wanted the monk who dared to seduce his beloved daughter to die in the most humiliating way. What he didn't know was that his daughter's heart also died along with the debate.

Today, we have no way of knowing whether Bian Ji regretted his relationship with Gao Yang on the execution ground. But it's not hard to guess that he probably has no regrets. After all, how could a person as extraordinary as him be greedy for life and afraid of death? What's more, what he asked for has always been to live up to the Tathagata and live up to you.

Buddha said: Everything is illusion. What is most important? It is neither the past nor the future, but the present that can be seen and touched. Falling in love with Gao Yang is just a matter of living in the present. No matter what the imperial power, wealth and honor, what kind of rules and regulations, when love comes, even if it costs my life, I will be happy with it.
