For example, in Qiemo, the southern margin of Tarim Basin, the annual rainfall is18.6 mm; Ruoqiang is17.4 mm; Turpan 16.4 mm; Lenghu 17.6mm in Tarim Basin, and Yiwu Naomao Lake (498.3 m above sea level) near the border between China and Mongolia at the eastern end of Tianshan Mountain in Xinjiang has the least annual average rainfall, only 12.0mm, but this is not the place with the least rainfall at China Meteorological Station, and the least place is Toksun (below 1m above sea level) on the west side of Turpan Basin.
