[Edit this paragraph] Morphological characteristics
Zhu Dinghong (Figure 2) is a perennial herb with large bulbs, nearly spherical, 5- 10 cm in diameter and light green or yellowish brown skin. The leaves are opposite, banded, with 2-8 cones at the top. After flowering, there are many leaves, the length of which is 15 to 60 cm. There are also various brocade spots in Zhu Dinghong (Zhu Dinghong), and there is a white brocade spot in the middle of the leaves. The total pedicel is hollow, covered with white powder, and there are 2-6 flowers at the top, which are trumpet-shaped. The flowering period is from late autumn to early summer, and even some varieties bloom from early autumn to Spring Festival (burley Zhu Dinghong). Modern cultivation is mostly hybrid varieties with huge flowers and bright colors, such as red, rose, orange, pink, white, blue-purple, green, pink-white, red-yellow and so on. Its color can cover all other colors in the chromatogram except pure blue, pure black and pure green. The flower diameter can reach more than 20cm, and there are double petals; There are many varieties of tulips in Zhu Dinghong; The color range exceeds hyacinthus orientalis; The flowers are so strange that even lilies are inferior; It is rare that flowers and leaves are bulbous roots. It can be seen that its comprehensive characteristics are the first among bulbous flowers.

[Edit this paragraph] Ecological habits
I like warm and humid climate, and the suitable growth temperature is 18-25℃. I don't want to be too hot and the sun can't be too strong. I should put it under the shade shed for maintenance. Afraid of floods. The winter dormancy period requires a cool climate, which is 10- 12℃ and shall not be lower than 5℃. I like sandy loam rich in humus and well drained.
[Edit this paragraph] Breeding methods
Zhu Dinghong (Figure 4) propagates by sowing or separating bulbs. Seeds can be sown when they are mature, and germinate quickly at 18℃-20℃. When transplanting seedlings, pay attention to prevent root damage. After the second transplanting, the seedlings can be put into a small pot. In winter, they must spend the winter in a cold bed or a low-temperature greenhouse, and change potted plants in the next spring, so that they can bloom in the third year. Generally, the method of separating small bulbs is used for propagation. The bulbs planted around the mother bulb can bloom in the next year if they are cultured separately.
Propagation is carried out by ball division, bulb division, sowing or tissue culture. The ball-dividing propagation is carried out in March-April, and the balls around the mother ball are removed and planted separately. When planting, it is not advisable to cover the soil too much, and the top of the small bulb is slightly exposed to the soil surface. It takes two years to reproduce in this way before it blooms. Propagation by split-ball method is usually carried out in July and August. First, cut the bulb into several pieces longitudinally, and then divide it into scales. The outer layer takes 2 scales as the unit, and the inner layer takes 3 scales as the unit, and each unit needs to have an eccentric disk. If the diameter of the divided bulb is greater than 6cm, each bulb can be divided into more than 20 cuttings with two scales and three scales. Insert the cuttings obliquely in the substrate (pH value is preferably around 8), and keep them at 25-28℃ and proper air humidity. After 30-40 days, L-2 small bulbs can grow between the scales of each cutting, and the roots grow at the base. Small bulbs propagated in this way. After artificial pollination, Zhu Dinghong bears fruit easily. Seeds mature more than 60 days after pollination, and can be sown after maturity. After sowing, it germinates in the semi-cool place of 15- 18℃ and certain air humidity for about 15 days. Seedlings need to be maintained for 3-4 years before they can blossom.
If seeds are harvested in Zhu Dinghong, artificial pollination should be carried out to improve the seed setting rate. Because Zhu Dinghong seeds are flat and extremely thin, they are easy to lose water and germination ability, so they should be sown immediately after harvesting. If bulbs are produced, the stems should be cut off in time after flowering to avoid consuming nutrients of bulbs. After the leaves grow, strengthen fertilization to promote bulb expansion and produce new bulbs. Bulbs can be stored for 8 ~ 10 weeks at 13℃ and for a long time at 5℃.
1. Scale cutting propagation: select well-developed disease-free bulbs, peel off the over-mature scales on the outer layer, and leave the fully-developed middle scales for propagation, but each scale must have a stem plate. In September, the scales were planted in a sand bed, kept moist at 65438 08 ~ 20℃, then formed bulbs and took root at the base. The next spring, new seedlings grow on the small bulbs, which need to be cultivated for 3 years to become flowering bulbs.
2. Propagation by carving: select seed balls with a circumference of 24-26 cm, soak them in 1% copper sulfate solution for 5 minutes, wash them with clear water, cut off the seed balls of 1/3, gently carve the main buds in the center of the seed balls with a knife, and lay them flat on a sand bed with room temperature of 18-22℃.
3. Tissue culture and propagation: MS medium is commonly used, with stem disc, dormant bulb tissue, pedicel and ovary as explants. After tissue culture, callus was first produced, adventitious roots were formed after 30 days, and adventitious buds were formed after 3 ~ 4 months.
[Edit this paragraph] Cultivation management
Cultivate Zhu Dinghong.
Zhu Dinghong (Figure 5) Zhu Dinghong should plant large and substantial bulbs in flowerpots with a diameter of 18-20 cm, which can bloom in April and June; Potted plants in September, put in a warm room, can bloom in March and April of the following year. The fertile loam containing humus mixed with fine sand is the most suitable potting soil, and the bottom of the basin should be paved with gravel to facilitate drainage. When planting bulbs, the top should be slightly exposed to the soil. Place the potted plants in a semi-shady place to avoid direct sunlight. It is advisable to apply fertilizer 2-3 times during the growth and flowering period. In the dormant period of bulbs, it is advisable to reduce the amount of watering to keep bulbs from wilting. Too much watering and high temperature will make the stems and leaves grow white, which will hinder dormancy and affect normal flowering.
Zhu Dinghong should be planted in the courtyard, and a well-drained site should be selected. Planting in the open field, planting the ball in March-April in spring, should be shallow, the top of the bulb can be slightly exposed to the soil, and it will bloom from late May to early June. In winter, all the leaves on the ground are dead. Dig out the bulbs ten days before 10, put them in an unfrozen place, and plant them the next year.
In the process of planting, stems, leaves and bulbs are reddish with diseased spots, so it is advisable to soak bulbs in warm water at 40℃-44℃ for one hour to prevent them.
Potted plants in Zhu Dinghong
Zhu Dinghong (Figure 6), also known as Patchouli and Zhu, is a perennial bulbous flower of Amaryllidaceae. Sexual preference is warm and humid, and strong light is forbidden. Native to tropical South America, but does not like high temperature or cold tolerance. The suitable growth temperature is 18-23℃. Suitable for fertile and loose sandy loam with good drainage.
Zhu Dinghong is dormant in winter and needs to be dry. The temperature is 9- 12 degrees, and the lowest temperature cannot be lower than 5 degrees. The area south of the Yangtze River basin can survive the winter with a little protection.
The flowerpots planted in Zhu Dinghong should not be too large (generally, flowerpots with a diameter of 16-20 cm should be used first) to avoid bulb rot caused by long-term moisture in the soil. The basin soil should be mixed with sand, and some decomposed cake fertilizer or chicken and duck manure should be applied at the bottom of the basin before planting. When planting, the bulbs of 1/4 to 1/3 are exposed out of the soil. After planting, compact the pot soil, leave 2-3 cm along the mouth, and water it once. It is not advisable to water more in the future, keep the humidity low and avoid direct sunlight. When the leaves are about 10 cm long, water them normally. Cut off the withered stems in time after flowering to avoid consuming the nutrients of bulbs. After autumn, water should be gradually reduced, and the soil in the basin is slightly dry. In winter, it is necessary to move indoors for wintering, and the amount of watering is small enough to keep bulbs from wilting and the temperature not lower than 5 degrees, otherwise it will affect dormancy and flowering in the next year.
Training points:
Zhu Dinghong blooms in April in spring and again in winter, so management should be strengthened as soon as possible to promote flowering. Zhu Dinghong (Figure 7)
1. Change the basin. Zhu Dinghong is developing rapidly. After 1 year growth, it should be replaced with a suitable flowerpot.
2. Change the soil. After 1 or 2 years of planting, the soil in Zhu Dinghong is short of fertilizer. In order to promote the growth and flowering of the new year, new soil should be changed.
3. Lamian Noodles. Zhu Dinghong is developing rapidly. /kloc-after 0/year or 2 years, many small bulbs grow on the head. So when changing pots and soil, we divide plants into one pot, middle plants into one pot, and small plants into one pot.
4. Fertilize. In Zhu Dinghong, base fertilizer should be applied at the same time as changing pots, changing soil and planting, and phosphorus and potassium fertilizer should be applied once a month after planting pots. The principle of fertilization is thin and diligent application to promote flower bud differentiation and flowering.
Trim. Zhu Dinghong grows very fast with long and dense leaves. When changing pots and soil, cut off dead leaves, roots and roots of diseases and pests, leaving vigorous leaves.
6. Control pests and diseases. In order to make Zhu Dinghong grow vigorously and bloom early, it is necessary to carry out pest control, and spray anthers once a month, around 9 am and 4 pm on sunny days, and it is not advisable to spray them in the hot sun at noon to prevent phytotoxicity.
The above six points are the work that Zhu Dinghong should pay attention to in spring management.
[Edit this paragraph] Application value
Decorative application: Zhu Dinghong has thick and glossy leaves, soft and gorgeous colors, and huge and plump flowers. Suitable for potted plants in living room, study and window sill.
[Edit this paragraph] Maintenance points
Zhu Dinghong (Figure 8) After Zhu Dinghong dies of flowering, the pedicels should be cut off in time. Because this stage after flowering is mainly to raise bulbs, so that they can fully absorb nutrients, so that bulbs can grow and produce new bulbs, and pedicels are cut to concentrate on nutrition and raise bulbs. In post-flowering management, in addition to appropriately reducing the amount of watering, attention should also be paid to the fact that the basin soil cannot accumulate water to avoid bulb rot. After flowering, it is still necessary to apply 1 cake fertilizer every 20 days or so to promote bulb growth and sprout new bulbs. Only after 1 1 month, can fertilization be stopped, watering be controlled and bulbs not dried up.
What should I pay attention to during the dormant period in Zhu Dinghong?
Bulbs in Zhu Dinghong are dormant in winter, and the dormancy period is about 60 days. If the dormancy period is well maintained, it will germinate and bloom in the second year.
Zhu Dinghong should pay attention to the following problems during hibernation:
① Strictly control watering. As mentioned in the previous section, the amount of watering should be as little as possible to keep the bulbs from withering in winter, otherwise the bulbs will easily deteriorate;
② Strictly control the room temperature. That is, the indoor temperature is about 15℃, when it is lower than 5℃, bulbs are easy to freeze, and when the humidity is higher than 15℃, it will hinder their dormancy and affect their flowering in the next year.
(3) Bulbs separated from pot soil can be hidden in sandy soil with indoor water content of about 65438 00%.
In Zhu Dinghong (Figure 9), at the end of February or the beginning of 10 of 65438+, potted plants can be watered once to wake them up, and after one week, dilute liquid fertilizer of calcium superphosphate can be applied again. At this time, the room temperature can be raised to about 16 degrees, which can promote its germination and blossom early.
What should I pay attention to after Zhu Dinghong blooms?
After flowering, the aboveground part of Zhu Dinghong bears fruit, while the underground part grows bulbs. In order to make bulbs full, robust and full of seeds, attention should be paid to:
① fertilization. After flowering, we should continue to apply liquid fertilizer 1~2 times, choose compound fertilizer as fertilizer, or add phosphorus and potassium fertilizer to facilitate the growth of bulbs and seeds.
2 moisture. You don't need to water it often. It's better to dry the substrate.
③ Potted Zhu Dinghong should be moved to a semi-cool, well-ventilated and cool environment for maintenance after flowering.
Maintenance summary:
Zhu Dinghong (photo 10)
Water: Keep the plants moist and water them thoroughly. But avoid excessive water and poor drainage. Generally, indoor air humidity is sufficient.
Fat: I like being fat. Fertilize 1 time every half month with the growth of leaves in the growth period, stop fertilizing at flowering period, continue fertilizing after flowering, mainly use phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, reduce nitrogen fertilizer, and stop fertilizing at the end of autumn. Potted plants can be added with some superphosphate as base fertilizer.
Soil: Sandy loam rich in organic matter, well drained, and not sticky with heavy soil.
Temperature: It can be cool and dry in winter dormancy period. The optimum growth temperature is 5-65438 00℃.
Light: I like sunshine, but I avoid direct glare. It should be placed in front of a bright window without direct glare.
Propagation: ball distribution, sowing, ball cutting and tissue culture are all acceptable. Mainly spread through the sub-ball. In February and March of spring, the balls collected last year will be sorted out, the small balls around the mother ball will be peeled off, the residual roots will be cut off and planted after two days of airing. The ball should be planted shallowly so that it is higher than the soil surface 1/3- 1/2. Water the flowerpot 1 time, and then water it after new leaves appear. After the flowers wither, cut off the residual leaves in time. When they wither in late autumn and early winter, dig bulbs in sunny days and store them in a well-ventilated and cool room.
[Edit this paragraph] Preventing diseases and smelting
The main diseases are virus disease, spot disease and nematode disease. Spots harm leaves, flowers, scape and bulbs, and round or spindle-shaped reddish-brown spots occur from time to time, especially in autumn. Sick leaves should be removed; Before planting, bulbs were soaked in 0.5% formalin solution for 2 hours, and the same amount of Bordeaux solution was sprayed regularly in spring. Root rot and leaf rot caused by virus disease in Zhu Dinghong can be sprayed with 700 times solution of 75% chlorothalonil wettable powder. Nematodes mainly invade from stomata on leaves and stems, causing diseases on leaves and stems, and gradually spread to bulbs. Bulbs should be soaked in 43℃ warm water and 0.5% formalin for 3 ~ 4 hours to achieve the control effect. Insect pests do great harm to red spider, and 40% dicofol EC 1000 times can be sprayed.
Zhu Dinghong leaves appear macula how to do?
In summer, spots will appear at the top of Zhu Dinghong, and then spread downward. It's no use rubbing with gentamicin. What is the reason? It turns out that some leaves in Zhu Dinghong are evergreen, and some have yellow stripes in the green, commonly known as "Zhu Dinghong in Phnom Penh". If the leaf color is like this and the growth is relatively stable and normal, it is not a disease; If it starts from the tip of the blade and gradually dries up, it is sick. The cause of the disease:
(1) The sun is exposed, and the soil in the basin is often too wet.
(2) Apply "over-fertilizer" or pure phosphate fertilizer without fermentation and decomposition. Prevention and control methods: Don't be exposed to the sun in Zhu Dinghong, don't water the basin soil frequently, and don't use unfermented and decomposed fertilizers and pure phosphate fertilizer.
How to prevent Zhu Dinghong from being shot by an arrow?
Zhu Dinghong is deeply loved by people because of its colorful flowers and blooming in early spring. However, if it is not well managed, it will often make its flowers and arrows caught in the leaves, making it difficult to bloom upright. Therefore, it should be noted that:
(1) Zhu Dinghong must have enough light. After it grows new leaves, it needs to apply 1 times of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer every week, such as dry cake, bone meal and rotten fish mixture. Apply less or no nitrogen fertilizer to prevent the white growth of leaves and affect the differentiation and flowering of flower buds. Fertilization can only be stopped when the flower arrow is pulled out, otherwise it is easy to drop flowers and buds in advance.
② During the flowering period of Zhu Dinghong, the soil should be kept moist to ensure the water demand for flowering growth. When the flowers are long, large and numerous, in order to prevent them from falling down and lodging, they should be protected by columns. Cut off the flower from the base of the flower arrow in time after withering, so as to avoid nutrient consumption in the plant, which is beneficial to the germination of new flower arrow.
[Edit this paragraph] Postpartum treatment
The flowers in Zhu Dinghong are very big and beautiful in color, so it is very promising to use dwarf varieties for mass production. In particular, the flowering period during New Year's Day and Spring Festival can be controlled to make it a high-quality potted flower in the season with few flowers, which has been realized in Zhu Dinghong. At the same time of potted flower production, Zhu Dinghong can also expand to the production of cut flowers and bulbs, which has the characteristics of low production cost, high yield, high grade of cut flowers, good decorative effect and bulbs' storage and transportation resistance.

Why does Zhu Dinghong plant deeply but not blossom?
Last winter, my friend planted the bulbs in Zhu Dinghong below 4cm on the surface of the pot soil. Although it grew vigorously, many small bulbs were separated, but they did not bloom. I helped him soak two large bulbs with a diameter of 15cm in hot water at 40℃ for more than an hour, take them out to dry, replant them, and bury them to three quarters of the height of the bulbs, exposing a little terminal bud for normal management. Sure enough, five flowers and three flowers respectively came out this spring, and the flowers were big and beautiful.
How to make Zhu Dinghong grow strong, spend more and shoot more arrows, several times a year?
According to Zhu Dinghong's habits of loving warmth, being afraid of cold, loving sunshine and being tolerant of fertilizer, my cultivation management is as follows: 1. Loose and fertile humus-rich culture soil should be selected, and a little bone meal should be added to the pot. 2. During the whole growth period, topdressing the decomposed liquid fertilizer of hemp cake every seven or eight days, and the suitable concentrations are fertilizer-water ratio, water ratio and seven ratio. No topdressing is needed at flowering stage, and topdressing will continue after flowering. Third, after each flower withers, cut off the flower arrow in time to prevent seed setting, so as not to affect the second flowering. Fourth, it should be maintained in a sunny place. Water it once a day in sunny days and high temperatures. Fifth, we should have a winter dormancy period. As far as Nanyang, Henan Province is concerned, 10 should stop fertilizing and reduce watering. 1 1 stop watering and cut off leaves in the middle of the month, and people will move indoors to hibernate for the winter. The room temperature is generally around three degrees Celsius, which should not be high, so you don't need to water it all winter. 6. Water will be started at the end of mid-March next spring, and the pots will be moved out for outdoor maintenance at the end of the month or early April. Top dressing can be started after the leaves are released, and the amount of top dressing can be appropriately increased after the arrows are released. Seven, once every three years. When the pot is served, in addition to the mother ball, two or three larger daughter balls should be left, so that a pot of Zhu Dinghong can blossom more.
How to make Zhu Dinghong blossom ahead of schedule?
The natural flowering period in Zhu Dinghong is from April to June. If Zhu Dinghong needs to blossom early, the cultivation method can be adopted: in June 5438+February, the big bulbs in the original flowerpot are taken out and put into the pot again, watered, placed indoors at 20~25℃, the indoor air humidity is increased, and the pot soil is kept moist, and liquid fertilizer 1~2 times is applied, and the flowers can bloom in about 2 months. If the room temperature is below 20℃, in order to accelerate its flowering, the bud can be covered with plastic bags. In addition, shading with only 10~ 1 1 hour per day can also promote its early flowering.
How to make Zhu Dinghong blossom in the Spring Festival?
The natural flowering period in Zhu Dinghong is generally at the turn of spring and summer, but how to make Zhu Dinghong at home bloom in the cold Spring Festival? The following maintenance and management measures can be taken:
Potted Zhu Dinghong in the growing season should be cut off from water and fertilizer 80-90 days before the Spring Festival. When the leaves wilt slightly, the leaves should be cut off, and then the Zhu Dinghong flowerpot should be placed in a dry and cool place indoors, and the room temperature should be kept at about 65438 03℃. Be careful that the temperature should not be too high or too low, and don't water the basin soil. For example, if the basin soil is too dry, you can spray some water into the basin soil with a fine-eye watering can until the basin soil is slightly wet. If the soil in the flowerpot is too wet, Zhu Dinghong bulbs will rot easily. At this time, Zhu Dinghong bulbs are forced to sleep and differentiate into flower buds.
30-40 days before the Spring Festival, put the flowerpot in a warm and sunny place indoors, and keep the room temperature at 20℃-25℃. Zhu Dinghong will quickly take out the flower arrow. If the flower arrow grows too fast, the flowerpot can be moved to a lower indoor temperature, and if the flower bud grows too slowly, the room temperature can be raised. At the same time, the light can be increased appropriately and the appropriate amount of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer solution can be supplemented. After the above management measures and careful maintenance, Zhu Dinghong will pull out its arrow in time and bear fruit. During the Spring Festival, Zhu Dinghong can be open for more than a month.
After potted Zhu Dinghong blooms in the Spring Festival, if the management of fertilizer and water is strengthened, some larger bulbs can still bloom at the turn of spring and summer. Some bulbs may not bloom in the Spring Festival because of excessive consumption of nutrients, so they can't be treated any more. Strengthen conservation management, and natural flowers can bloom well.
How to make Zhu Dinghong bloom four times?
The key to promote the fourth flowering in Zhu Dinghong is to strengthen the cultivation management. When changing pots, be sure to put enough base fertilizer at the bottom of the pots. After the first flowering, base fertilizer and secondary topdressing should be supplemented. I saw the second flower in June. Apply fertilizer once after flowering to increase nutrition. In the high temperature season in July and August, just strengthen water conservation and put the flowerpot in a cool and ventilated place. After beginning of autumn, the weather was a little cooler. Apply phosphorus-based fertilizer every 20 days, and flowers can be seen in June at 5438+ 10, and then add humus fertilizer after the flowers wither. Beginning of winter moved in at night and put it outdoors in sunny days and indoors in warm sunshine in cold days. The flowerpot is covered with a plastic bag to prevent it from sleeping. If we can keep the soil moist and raise the temperature, we can see the fourth flower before the Spring Festival.
Why do the leaves in Zhu Dinghong turn yellow?
Under normal circumstances, Zhu Dinghong's leaves are green and shiny. They will turn yellow if they are not properly maintained. The reason for this is the following:
① Poor drainage or excessive humidity. Zhu Dinghong likes humidity, but avoids being too wet for fear of waterlogging. Whether potted or planted in the open field, the leaves will turn yellow when the substrate is not well drained.
② The light is too strong. Zhu Dinghong likes light, but it can't be too strong. For example, in the hot summer sun, the tip of the leaf will be scorched and the leaves will turn yellow. Therefore, in midsummer, it should be placed in a place where the sun is not too strong or properly shaded.
③ Improper fertilization. When fertilization is too concentrated or the decomposition of organic fertilizer is not sufficient, especially when it is hot in summer, it will cause fertilizer damage and yellowing of leaves.
4 diseases. When suffering from leaf spot and leaf blight, it will also make the leaves yellow.
How to make Zhu Dinghong's leaves short and have more flowers?
Zhu Dinghong blooms first, then leaves grow. If cultivated properly, flowers with short and thick leaves, large and bright flowers and great ornamental value can be cultivated. The specific cultivation method is: after digging out the mother ball every autumn, separate the daughter balls around the mother ball, classify them according to their size, cut off the old roots and dry them in the sun, and store them in a ventilated and dry place for the winter with bamboo baskets or cloth bags. During hibernation, check frequently to prevent mildew; From March to early April of the following year, small balls were planted in the open field, and large balls with a diameter of more than 5 cm were selected and planted in a soil bowl with a diameter of 8 cm. Potted soil can be made by mixing 3 parts of pig manure, 2 parts of sawdust, 2 parts of honeycomb cinder and 3 parts of garden soil. When planting, bulbs are exposed to the soil surface about 1/2 or 1/3. After planting, water it and put it in the shade. After 5~7 days, move to the sunny place to keep the soil moist. Top dressing can be started half a month after planting, and a small amount of urea can be added to the clear water manure (bean cake liquid is better). After flower buds are formed, a small amount of potassium dihydrogen phosphate can be added to fishy water and applied every 7~ 10 days/time. In addition, 0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate and 0.2% urea can be sprayed outside the roots to promote bright flowers.
How did Zhu Dinghong survive the winter?
Because Zhu Dinghong is not cold-tolerant, it is necessary to do a good job in overwintering management.
Bulb overwintering
June 5438+10/early October, the bulbs were dug out (be careful not to be damaged), the upper stems and leaves were cut off, and the root soil was washed, or dried in the sun or in the shade. After the epidermis and incision of bulbs are dried, they are placed in dry places indoors or concentrated in sand storage.
Potted overwintering
The original pot with soil for winter must be put in the greenhouse. Potted soil must be kept dry. If the soil is too wet, plants will continue to grow, which will hinder their dormancy and affect the normal flowering in the next year. In winter, the humidity is high, and the buds in the scales are perishable, which leads to no flowering in the next year. Plants that overwinter in potted plants germinate earlier than those that overwinter in dry storage.
Overwintering outdoors
The area south of the Yangtze River can overwinter in the open air, and the treatment method is simple. Cut leaves in late autumn and early winter, and cover scales with soil or straw. Plants that overwinter in the open air will grow vigorously and sprout vigorously in the second year. However, in rainy and snowy areas, sunshine is poor in ventilation and easy to rot.
Seedling overwintering
Zhu Dinghong seedlings should be cultivated in greenhouse, watered and fertilized, and kept alive in winter, so that they can grow rapidly in the first spring. This method can obtain adult bulbs in advance.
How to raise water resources in Zhu Dinghong?
Zhu Dinghong is an important ornamental plant, which is mostly cultivated in soil and rarely cultivated in water. If it is semi-submerged in water, white roots and green leaves set off the bright flowers when it blooms, which is particularly elegant and beautiful.
To raise Zhu Dinghong with water, we must first choose the right kind of balls. Generally, Zhu Dinghong is selected for more than 3 years (the bulb is preferably more than 6 cm), all leaves are cut off after autumn and before frost, and water is controlled to promote its dormancy (the dormancy period is not less than 25 days or 50 days before the Spring Festival, and it is difficult to see flowers before the festival), and then the bulbs are soaked with permanganate solution with the depth of11000 to remove old roots and impurities, and then daffodils are planted. If you use glassware as a wall hanging, you don't need to put sand or stones. The wat only needs to submerge half of that see ball. Put it in a place where there is no sunshine, and the ambient temperature should be kept at 20-25 degrees. Change water every 2-3 days in the first half of the month, and then every 4-5 days.
In order to make the flowers bloom better, it is advisable to add a little inorganic fertilizer to the newly changed water every week after the flower scape emerges, so as to make it a very thin inorganic liquid fertilizer. When the scape grows to about 3 cm, the ambient temperature is raised to about 25 degrees. When the bud is about to open, put the plant in a cool place with the ambient temperature of about 10 degrees. The purpose of this is to make Zhu Dinghong more colorful and have a longer flowering period. After flowering, when the weather is warm, hydroponic Zhu Dinghong will be planted underground for maintenance, and its growth will flourish as usual. If cultivated in this way in winter, it will bloom again in the Spring Festival.
