When will the observation field for the study of climate and environmental ecological effects of large photovoltaic power plants be unveiled?

August 18, 1 1 It is reported that the research and observation station for climate and environmental ecological effects of large photovoltaic power stations, which was established by Professor Luo Yong from the Department of Earth System Science of Tsinghua University in cooperation with Xuyang Photovoltaic Power Generation Co., Ltd. in wujiaqu city, Xinjiang and Bonage Material Technology Co., Ltd., was unveiled here on June 10.

According to the strategic cooperation agreement between Tsinghua University and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, the Department of Earth System Science of Tsinghua University set up the above observation site in wujiaqu city, Xinjiang at the end of 20 17. After more than half a year of debugging observation equipment, systematic observation research has been carried out one after another.

Luo Yong, deputy director of the Department of Earth System Science in Tsinghua University, said that there are two comparative observation towers located inside and outside the photovoltaic power station, which are used to observe conventional micro-meteorological factors such as radiation, air pressure, temperature, humidity, wind direction, wind speed, rainfall (snow) and ground temperature at different heights inside and outside the station, as well as special meteorological factors of photovoltaic power station such as backplane temperature. The observation data are directly connected to the data receiving terminal in Tsinghua University through real-time wireless transmission, which is used to analyze and calculate the possible impact of large-scale photovoltaic power station construction on the surface boundary layer parameters and its regional climate and environmental ecological effects.

Luo Yong said that an important issue has gradually attracted everyone's attention, that is, whether the development and utilization of wind energy and solar energy will have an impact on the local and regional climate environment. The establishment of observation field will answer this question.

According to reports, the observation field was established in Xinjiang because Xinjiang is an important area for the development of renewable energy in China. In recent years, some achievements have been made in the development and utilization of wind energy and solar energy, and Xinjiang, as the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt, has carried out research and achievements transformation related to renewable energy in Xinjiang, which can play an exemplary role in the development and utilization of renewable energy in the Belt and Road construction.

Chen Miao, chairman of Xinjiang Bonage Materials Technology Co., Ltd. said that by establishing observation field, relying on the obtained data and combining with Industry-University-Research, the company's technical strength can be enhanced, thus making better efforts for the improvement of Xinjiang's ecological environment.
