1February, 956, Pingxi District and Tuoxi District merged into Qinyang District. In March, Aoyang Town in Aoyang District and Xietan Town in Xietan District were directly administered by the county. The county is divided into 4 districts, 2 towns and 52 townships.

In May, 1958, the Aoyang District was changed to the pit bottom area, governing 7 townships. The remaining 12 townships (towns) originally belonging to Aoyang District are directly under the jurisdiction of this county. In August, the district was withdrawn and merged with the township. The county is divided into 24 townships (towns), and Xietan and Qinyang are reserved as agencies. 1981July, Dayang commune was renamed Qingyuan commune.

1March, 983, Chengguan Town was renamed as Aoyang Town.

In September, 1984, 12 commune and Aoyang town were changed to1/township and Aoyang and Xietan towns, and 180 administrative villages and two neighborhood committees were under its jurisdiction.

1988 1 month, Xiadang Township was established in five administrative villages of Beikeng, Shangdang, Xiadang, Yangxitou, Xishan, Pingfeng Village in rural Qinyang and some natural villages in Tuoxi Township.

By the end of 1989, there were 2 towns in the county, 12 townships, 183 administrative villages and 2 neighborhood committees, and * * * governed 993 natural villages (excluding abandoned villages).

1997, Shouning county governs 4 towns, 10 townships: Aoyang Town, Xietan Town, Nanyang Town, Wu Qu Town, Da 'an Township, Kengdi Township, Qingyuan Township, Zhuguanlong Township, Xixi Township, Pingxi Township, Tuoxi Township, Qinyang Township, Fengyang Township and Xiadang Township. The county government is located in Aoyang Town.
