Creation background

The poet lived in Jiannan Garden near Xianshan in the south of Xiangyang for most of his life. This poem was written in the period when the poet lived in seclusion in his hometown and entertained himself.

This is a poem mourning the past and hurting the present. The so-called "hanging the ancient" means hanging the sheep monument on the first mountain in Xi' an. Poets are depressed when they want to be officials. When he was extremely dissatisfied, he climbed the fairy mountain with a few friends, paid tribute to the monument, thought of yang hu's state of mind in those days, remembered what yang hu said, coincided with the poet's situation, and could not help sighing about his life experience.
