Characteristics of natural climate and disastrous weather in Shandong Province
Shandong province is located in the lower reaches of the Yellow River, in the mid-latitude zone. It has a warm temperate humid and semi-humid monsoon climate with four distinct seasons, concentrated rainfall and mild climate. The topography of the whole province is complex, with the central Shandong, southern Shandong and Shandong peninsulas being mountainous and hilly, and the western Shandong and northern Shandong being alluvial plains of the Yellow River. The main rivers in the province are Yellow River, Canal, Xiaoqing River, Dawen River, yi river, Harmony River, Weihe River, Ma Jiahe River and Tuhai River. The lakes mainly include Nansi Lake and Dongping Lake. The total area of the province is 6.5438+0.56 million square kilometers, with 6.867 million hectares of cultivated land and more than 3,390 kilometers of coastline. This natural geographical condition and diverse climate provide superior climatic conditions for the comprehensive development of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and by-products in our province.
At the same time, Shandong is a disaster-prone province. Meteorological disasters such as drought, flood, wind and hail, tropical cyclone and storm surge occur frequently, which are obviously extensive, multiple, group and derivative. The annual average number of rainstorm days in all parts of our province is between 1.3 ~ 4. 1, and its distribution trend is decreasing from south to north. The main hail area is in the coastal area of north-central Shandong, and the hail center is in Anqiu, with an average annual hail day of 65,438 0.4 days. According to statistics, during the 40 years from 1949 to 1989, due to meteorological disasters, the average annual output of grain decreased by15100000 kg, cotton decreased by 95 million kg, oil decreased by1850000 kg, and 559000 houses collapsed. These shocking figures show the frequency and severity of meteorological disasters in our province. According to the statistics of 1949~ 1989, the most harmful natural disasters in our province are meteorological disasters, followed by drought, flood, wind and hail.
For a long time, our province has always attached importance to comprehensive disaster reduction and prevention, and always placed disaster reduction and development in the same important position. Great progress has been made in the research and prediction of the occurrence and development of natural disasters, and the ability to prevent and resist disasters has been greatly enhanced. The disaster relief work has gradually become institutionalized and standardized, and the focus of the whole disaster reduction work has gradually shifted from post-disaster relief to pre-disaster defense. However, judging from the situation of disaster reduction and prevention in Shandong Province, it is far from meeting the needs of Shandong's economic development. The provincial party committee and government have always attached great importance to the meteorological work in our province, and have repeatedly instructed meteorological departments to continuously strengthen and improve the ability of monitoring and forecasting severe weather, strengthen the modernization of meteorological work and the research and development of weather modification work, and better escort the economic development and social progress of Shandong Province, and "strengthen services for the benefit of Shandong people".
