Why is it still very cold after beginning of spring?

Beginning of spring is one of the 24 solar terms in the lunar calendar, which usually appears on February 3rd or 4th in the Gregorian calendar, marking the beginning of spring. However, in fact, from the climatological point of view, the beginning of spring does not mean that the weather will warm up immediately, because the temperature change needs a process.
