Jiuzhaigou National Nature Reserve mainly protects rare animals such as giant pandas and golden monkeys and their natural ecological environment. Among the higher plants in the region, there are 74 species of rare plants protected by the state, including 3 species of Ginkgo biloba, Taxus chinensis and clover, 66 species of second-class protected plants, with 43 species of orchids as the main species, and 5 species listed in the Red Book of Endangered Plants in China. There are 18 species of national first-class and second-class protected animals, including 4 species of first-class and 0/4 species of second-class/kloc-0, and the representative species are giant panda and Sichuan golden monkey. Including protected areas, rich in paleontological fossils and well-developed ancient glacial landforms.
Jiuzhaigou Nature Reserve is high in the south and low in the north, with deep valleys and wide height difference. Jiuzhaigou mouth on the northern edge of the area is only 2000 meters above sea level, with peaks in the middle above 4000 meters and south above 4500 meters, and the main ditch is more than 30 kilometers long. The top of the mountain and the peaks on both sides are basically covered with snow all year round. Jiuzhaigou is located in the transition zone from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to the Sichuan Basin, with complex geological background, widely distributed carbonate rocks, developed folds and faults, strong neotectonic movement and large crustal uplift. Various forces are intertwined, creating a variety of landforms, developing large-scale karst travertine deposits, mainly plant karst travertine deposits, forming Jiuzhaigou's beautiful and elegant lakes, rushing streams, waterfalls with flying beads and splashing jade, and deep ancient acres of Lin Mang.
Jiuzhaigou is about 3000 meters above sea level and belongs to the humid climate of plateau. The temperature in Jiuzhaigou varies greatly in spring, and the average temperature is mostly between 9- 18℃. There was frozen soil and residual snow before the weather in April. In summer, the temperature in Jiuzhai rises rapidly and steadily. Average temperature 19-22℃, prepare thin sweaters when it gets cold at night; The weather in autumn is refreshing and pleasant, and the temperature is mostly at 7- 18℃, with a large temperature difference between day and night, especially in the late autumn after 10. Frozen soil appears after 10; It is very cold in winter, and the temperature is around 0℃. The annual average temperature of Norilang in the center is 7.3℃. Jiuzhaigou has less rainfall (annual rainfall is less than 600mm) and is concentrated. July-August is a typical rainy season.
Jiuzhaigou Nature Reserve has 108 alpine lakes, most of which are distributed in groups, with different areas ranging from half an acre to more than a thousand acres. There are so many high mountains and lakes in a ditch that the whole country and even the whole world can't find them. Jiuzhaigou has many Tianchi lakes, the largest of which is 7 kilometers long. Tianchi Lake is surrounded by dense virgin forest. Jiuzhaigou has 17 waterfall, which is the Nuorilang waterfall in Jiuzhaigou. The largest lake in the reserve is Changhaizi, 7 kilometers to the south.
