Dongling Mountain, the first peak in Beijing

Dongling Mountain Scenic Area is located in the northwest mountainous area of Mentougou District, bordering Zhuolu County and Huailai County of Zhangjiakou City. There are three famous Lingshan in the network: Dongling Mountain, Xiling Mountain and Beiling Mountain. This makes many friends who have never been in contact with Lingshan lose their direction for a while and don't know which one is the "true Buddha". In fact, lingshan scenic spot in Mentougou is the orthodox Lingshan, namely "Dongling Mountain", while "Xiling Mountain" is the small Wutai Mountain (in Yuxian County, Zhangjiakou) commonly referred to as outdoor "donkey friends", while the so-called "Beiling Mountain" is the local name of a sub-peak (in Huailai County) on the north side of the main peak in lingshan scenic spot.

The main peak of Lingshan is 2303 meters above sea level, which is the first peak in Beijing in terms of regional scope. Together with tall mountains and scattered peaks, it forms the "roof" mountain network in Beijing.

The aura of Lingshan

As the "roof" of Beijing, Lingshan is full of magic in the eyes of people who love it. In case of going to Lingshan in alternate seasons, under the changes of air pressure, humidity and vegetation, the dense fog and water vapor will make the mountain looming, more mysterious than sunny days, and look like a mountain from a distance and close. At this time, it happens that you are walking in the Panshan Canyon of Lingshan, so you can experience the "aura" of Lingshan in the nearest distance.

Lingshan is not only an ancient battlefield in history, but also a battlefield where the Eighth Route Army and the Japanese invaders fought fiercely many times. Today, there are still relics of the ancient Great Wall on the top of Lingshan Mountain, and stone walls and beacon towers are faintly visible. Within the 25 square kilometers of Lingshan Scenic Area in Fiona Fang, the most representative features are majestic peaks, various wild flowers, vast alpine meadows and abundant wildlife resources.

The alpine meadow, which rises gently in the main scenic spot of Lingshan, spreads on the top of the 3000-acre Fiona Fang, like a green carpet, with more than 800 kinds of plants. On the lush green carpet, all kinds of Shan Ye flowers, lush bushes, flocks of cattle and sheep, 5,000 mu of towering birch forest and pine forest complement each other. The daily temperature difference between Lingshan and Beijing is 10℃~ 12℃. When you are in such a cool and pleasant environment in full of green, you can fully enjoy the gift of nature.

Lingshan is a wild zoo in nature. There are more than 700 kinds of wild animals living here all the year round. Inadvertently, you may find many small creatures living in pine forests, meadows, grasslands and even rock corners, such as active squirrels, shiny foxes, agile rabbits, flocks of pheasants, fearless wild goats, sensitive roe deer, jumping wild boar and so on. Of course, there are yaks, which a boat in Qinghai has to mention. Lingshan scenic spot also has a rare bird-brown eared pheasant. These wild animals exist harmoniously under the protection of Lingshan, and at the same time make Lingshan full of more aura and charm, forming a relatively primitive ecological natural landscape.

Seeing flowers in the fog of Lingshan

It takes only 25 minutes to reach the top of the mountain by taking the aerial ropeway with a total length of 1548 meters and a drop of more than 430 meters from the center of lingshan scenic spot, which is convenient for many middle-aged and elderly tourists and children.

When you take the cable car in sunny weather, most of the scenic spots will appear in your field of vision, which is convenient for photographers to shoot large scenes such as the prospect of Lingshan. However, if the weather changes (the altitude of Lingshan Mountain is high, and the climate changes extremely quickly), due to clouds, rain and fog, the eyes of tourists who take the cable car will be more confined to the very close visual range, and everything in the distance will be covered from time to time. Of course, optimistic and poetic people will describe this feeling as "being in a fairyland". When I am in the fog, I am covered with a summer mat, but it is not the cold feeling in winter. Fortunately, tourists don't look lonely in this environment. When you look down at the hillside grass under your feet and the nearby ridge road, you will find colorful wild flowers swaying to you frequently under the breeze and clouds, while tourists wearing colorful clothes are struggling to climb to the top of the mountain on the stone steps road not far from the ropeway.

The most interesting thing is to see the wild flowers and plants on the alpine meadow in the clouds. The relationship between clouds and fog will make your eyes more focused on a certain place. The flowering period of Lingshan starts from the end of June and the beginning of July every year, and it doesn't start to decrease until mid-September. By the end of September, the flowering period was basically over. After arriving at the meadow on the top of lingshan scenic spot, your sight is basically occupied by a wide variety of unknown wild flowers, among which the yellow flowers on Huanghuapo grow vigorously, while the bright golden lotus, wild poppy, slender green bristlegrass, blue-purple delphinium and pink wild roses in five rooms can be seen everywhere. In fact, careful tourists can easily find that with the change of altitude, the types of wild flowers and plants are also changing.

If you enjoy wild flowers and plants on cloudy days, rainy days and foggy days, it will be different from sunny days: wild flowers will look more beautiful, and weeds will look more quiet and pity. With the breeze, the moist air is filled with the fragrance of wild flowers.

Lingshan tourism strategy:

1, Lingshan Natural Scenic Area is 22km away from Beijing1,and the highest peak is 2303m above sea level, which is the highest peak in Beijing, surpassing famous scenic spots such as Lushan Mountain, Taishan Mountain and Huangshan Mountain. Climb Lingshan, enjoy the sea of clouds, watch the sunrise, smell the flowers, listen to Lin Tao, watch the autumn colors and go camping outdoors.

2. Lingshan has a unique climate and can travel in all seasons, with the best in summer and autumn. Spring is full of flowers, summer is full of green fields, autumn is full of wild fruits, and winter is full of snow and ice. The tourist season of Lingshan is June, July, August and September every year, and the park is closed from mid-October to April of the following year. During the hottest weekends in July and August every year, hotel rooms in lingshan scenic spot are often full, so be sure to book in advance. Lingshan tourism is still open in winter and spring, but due to the sudden drop in the number of tourists, the hotels in the scenic spot cannot operate normally, and tourists are limited to the farmhouse near Jiangshuihe Village.

3. The frost-free period in Lingshan is short, and the climate change in four seasons is quite different from that in Beijing, showing the climate characteristics of short spring and autumn and long winter and summer. Due to the low temperature in mountainous areas, tourists need to wear long-sleeved cedar and rain gear in summer and thick cotton-padded jacket in other seasons. There are military coats for rent in lingshan scenic spot, 10 yuan/piece.

4. lingshan scenic spot 35 yuan/ticket, half price for holding student ID card, and free for press card and military officer card. 80 yuan/Zhang (round trip) is the ticket for the aerial ropeway in the scenic spot, 50 yuan/Zhang is one-way and 40 yuan/Zhang is one-way (opening time: 7: 30- 18: 30) (the ropeway is open in the tourist season and closed at other times). Small cars in 5 yuan/car (collected at the ticket office) and large cars in Lingshan parking lot 10 yuan/car.

There are two places where Lingshan rides: the first is the entrance of Jiangshuihe village, where many private grooms gather around tourists to solicit business. The way of renting and riding is to ride in stages (not going up the mountain in the scenic spot), and the price ranges from 50- 150 yuan; The Second Racecourse is located on the meadow in the northwest of Lingshan Central Scenic Area, with a regular riding ground, and the price is about 100 yuan/person. If you are lucky, you can ride a thoroughbred Ili horse in Lingshan instead of going to Xinjiang.

6. In addition to regular self-help tours in Lingshan, outdoor activities such as crossing and camping can be carried out here if the equipment is fully prepared. Many outdoor enthusiasts will choose to hike from the back of Lingyunfu Resort in Lingshan Central Scenic Area to the top of the mountain, pass through lawns, primitive secondary forests, birch forests and alpine meadows, and finally reach Wujianfang Scenic Area. The whole journey takes about 1.5-2 hours (on the way, you can see alpine flowers such as birch forest, wild yak, five-room trollius and wild poppy).

Recommended opinion:

1. Climbing to the top of Lingshan Mountain, you can see Guanting Reservoir in the north, the magnificent scenery of Baihua Mountain in the south and Xiaowutai Mountain in the west. Looking eastward, the ancient Great Wall is like a dragon on the Huangcaoliang, with great momentum. In the evening, you can also watch the lights in the village of Saibei.

Overlooking the red leaves and dancing mountains from the "roof of Beijing" will make people feel infinite pride. The temperature below 12℃ in the city makes the frost leaves redder. Because of the high altitude in Lingshan area, the leaves in the scenic area are generally redder and brighter than those under the mountain. On the occasion of the scene change, the green leaves have already turned into different shades of yellow and red.

Lingshan is not only a world of vegetation, but also a paradise for birds. In Lingshan, you can watch birds all year round, especially in spring, summer and autumn. Because of its large area and diverse vegetation types, Lingshan is an important habitat for mountain birds. Visitors can see more than 85% of the birds in Lingshan in 2-3 days. The main rare and common birds are: rare brown pheasant, golden eagle, goshawk, sparrow hawk, sparrow hawk, white-tailed harrier, falcon, peregrine falcon, spoon chicken, red-horned owl, carved owl, long-eared owl and pheasant.

The winter in Lingshan is also a scene. The Records of Huailai County lists "Fanshan point collection" (Fanshan is now Lingshan) as one of the eight scenic spots in the county (Zhuolu). Going to Lingshan in winter, it is still late autumn, and thick yellow meadows cover the whole hillside, which has a unique charm.

Room and board raiders:

Lingshan tourism is most prosperous in summer (peak season). With more tourists, accommodation will be correspondingly tight, and house prices will naturally rise. How high is it? For example, click on the existing star-rated hotels in lingshan scenic spot, and only talk about Jiangshuihe Village (the highest residential area in Beijing) where lingshan scenic spot is located. There are many individual farmhouses and private hotels in the village for tourists to stay and board. There are few people in the off-season, and the situation in the tourist season is very different. On a weekend in August this year, the house price was fired to 700 yuan for a room in 800 yuan. In the non-tourist season, the house price in the village only needs 40 yuan/standard room (independent bathroom) on weekends, and the cheapest bed room 10 yuan/bed. After entering September, the house price will be generally lowered, and the hotel room price in the village will be maintained from 200 yuan/room (usually) to 300 yuan/room (on weekends).

There are three regular tourist hotels in lingshan scenic spot, namely Lingshan Jingxi Tourism Training Center, Summer Resort and Lingyun Yunlou Resort. Jingxi Tourism Training Center Hotel belongs to lingshan scenic spot, and the price in peak season is a bit high (400 yuan/Standard Room, after all, is one of the two regular star-rated hotels in the core scenic spot).

There are many farmhouse hotels in Jiangshuihe Village, and netizens admire them as "Three Brothers" and "Mountain People". Living here, you can taste the game of mountain people such as roast whole sheep, roast rabbits and hand-grabbed mutton.

Traveling to Lingshan, in addition to staying in regular hotels and farmhouses, there are other accommodation options, such as the cartoon space house near the lingshan scenic spot cableway, which looks a bit like a mushroom; You can also bring your own tent (there are tents for rent in scenic spots, 50 yuan/Dingding in the off-season and 200 yuan/Dingding in the peak season) and camp on the meadow in the central scenic spot.

The origin of Lingshan

The original name of Lingshan is "Tianyunshan", which means "the clouds are in the mountains and the mountains are in the sky". The sky, clouds and mountains are integrated, and the clouds turn the mountains into light and shade. The origin of the name "Tianyunshan" is evidenced by the inscription unearthed from Xiangu's tomb on the south side of the main peak of Lingshan, also known as "Fanshan". According to "Wanping County Records", Lingshan is also called "Fanshan" because of its perennial snow.

Known as Dongling Mountain, it is said that it began in the Yuan Dynasty, that is, after the completion of Lingyan Temple in Qijiazhuang Village, west of Beijing, a banner was hung in the lobby of Lingyan Temple, saying, "Lingyan Temple is looking for aura, and aura comes from Dongling Mountain". People thought that "Dongling Mountain" on the banner meant "Tian Yun" or "Fanshan", so the name of Dongling Mountain began.

It was called "Lingshan" not long ago. In the old society, when people were praying for immortals and worshipping Buddha, simple people at the foot of Lingshan thought that Lingshan, shrouded in clouds, must have aura. More and more people pray for holy water and immortal souls. Every time they pray for it, the name of "Lingshan" spreads.
