Why are there four seasons in Tianshan Mountain?

There are four seasons in Tianshan Mountain, mainly because of the climate change caused by geographical location and altitude.

Tianshan Mountain Range is located in the northwest of China, across Xinjiang, showing an east-west trend. With an average elevation of more than 4000 meters, Tianshan Mountain is one of the highest grassland mountains in the world. Tianshan Mountain is located in the mid-latitude, which is influenced by the southwest warm and humid airflow from the Indian Ocean and the westerly airflow from the Atlantic Ocean. Because the mountain is high, the climate characteristics of Tianshan Mountain are obvious, and the temperature decreases with altitude, so Tianshan Mountain has different climate zones.

At the foot of Tianshan Mountain, the area with lower altitude has higher temperature and more precipitation, with temperate desert climate as the main climate. In the middle of Tianshan Mountain, the temperature is lower and the precipitation is increased in the higher altitude areas, mainly alpine meadows and grasslands. With the further elevation, the alpine ice and snow belt in Tianshan Mountain gradually appears, covered with thick ice and snow.

Therefore, due to different altitudes, Tianshan Mountain is divided into four different climatic zones, namely temperate desert climate, alpine meadow grassland climate, alpine desert climate and ice and snow climate. These four different climatic zones make the Tianshan Mountains have four seasons.
