Judging from the GTR generation, Huami did take a fancy to the market for smart, healthy and long-lasting smart watches that Huawei had successfully explored from the GT generation. However, GT was gaining momentum at the time, and there were not many GTR generations. There were surprises, but there were also many negative voices; in 2020, after more than a year of polishing, Huami GTR2 was released.

As a veteran smart wearable manufacturer, Huami has been praised a lot along the way, but at the same time there are a lot of doubts.

In addition, there are many highly playable functions, such as offline voice control: simply put, you can also complete various operations with voice when offline. For example, starting exercise, pausing exercise, playing music, setting alarm clocks, etc. This is very useful for sports scenes. After all, it is not only inconvenient but also dangerous to use your eyes to look at a small screen while exercising and to control it with your hands.

Of course, the detailed experience is better, but the battery life will be reduced compared to the GT2. For the same daily + continuous heart rate detection, the battery life of the GTR2 is about 4-5 days, but it is also within an acceptable range. .

In addition, in terms of hardware, I am also impressed by the performance of gtr2 in details

The linear motor on Amazfit GTR 2 is also relatively powerful. Compared with GT2, the vibration is much stronger. Basically It can get rid of the embarrassing situation of "vibration sound is stronger than the vibration itself", and the most convenient thing is to support vibration mode customization, allowing users to completely customize it, which directly improves the vibration experience in different scenarios.

Speaking of doubts, the biggest shortcomings of Huami's past generations of products are the GPS positioning problem, and the GTR 2 generation still only supports dual-star positioning.

First, let’s take a look at the speed of independent star search. In an open area, Huawei watch GT2 takes about 10 seconds, while Huami needs to wait about 20 seconds.

Here I mentioned to Huami engineers I have a suggestion. Huawei's GT2 will directly use the mobile phone's positioning when it is connected to the mobile phone. At this time, the positioning is determined in seconds, while Huami has positioning permission but it is useless. I think this can be improved. Except for some runners, others Most people take their mobile phones and watches with them when doing regular exercise.

I took two watches out for a spin, and the track records are as follows. The Huami positioning drift problem still exists, but it is much better than previous generations, and the error can basically be controlled at about 10m. But there is still a big gap with Huawei. I hope that the next generation can support Samsung's positioning and solve this problem as soon as possible.

In the process of using Huami, I also found some problems, such as frequent Bluetooth link disconnections, system UI problems, etc. After pushing a version of the firmware later, the situation was much better. Huami’s The system update speed is relatively fast, and feedback questions can be responded to by technical engineers in a timely manner, which is not bad.

This generation of Huami amazfit GTR2 has made up for the serious flaws of previous generations of GPS drift to a certain extent. Small bugs have also been reduced (mainly due to more functions). On the contrary, the system fluency and functional playability have been improved. It is already at the top level in its class. The high-quality experience in details and the price of less than 1,000 yuan (the standard version in the Tmall flagship store below only costs 879 yuan), the price/performance ratio is also very good;

If you If you are in need of a smart watch that is compatible with Android phones, and you also like a high-quality watch operating experience, and you don’t particularly care about positioning accuracy, you might as well consider Huami’s GTR2.
