Is the weather in Sichuan affected by the Three Gorges Hydropower Station?

This is actually a misunderstanding of hydropower stations.

The abnormal global weather changes in recent years cannot be said to be all due to the influence of the Three Gorges Power Station.

There is also the Wenchuan earthquake, which has nothing to do with the Three Gorges. Fortunately, no one said that the earthquakes in Haiti, Yushu and Indonesia were caused by the Three Gorges.

The dam height of the Three Gorges Dam is only 100 meters. Compared with the surrounding mountains, it is like a small stone ridge. If we can stop the monsoon from blowing to Sichuan, the mountains on both sides of the Three Gorges, which have existed for hundreds of millions of years, have already stopped these monsoons, and the climate in Sichuan has long been abnormal. In fact, the monsoon, that is, the large-scale flow of the atmosphere, is actually not close to the surface above 100 meters, and the dam can't stop it.

The hydropower project has caused damage to the ecological environment. Environmentalists focus on the destruction, exposed rocks and stripped vegetation during the construction process, and we usually see these photos. In fact, environmental protection is very important in the construction of hydropower stations. After the construction is completed, the damaged vegetation will be restored. Almost every large hydropower station is a very beautiful scenic spot after its completion, such as Qiandao Lake (Xin 'anjiang Power Station), Three Gorges, Tianhuangping and so on. Every power station is beautiful. Many anti-dam experts oppose dam construction only by imagination and a few photos. They never attend the EIA meeting of the power station, don't listen to the environmental protection restoration plan, stay at home, hide in the office and talk loudly, just like environmental guards.

In fact, there is an old saying in China that destruction in buildings is inevitable, unless it is broken, but the purpose of destruction is to build, and temporary destruction is in exchange for economic development and better environmental protection. Throughout the ages, many water conservancy projects are the transformation of the original natural environment, but history has proved that their advantages outweigh the disadvantages, such as Dujiangyan and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. The consequences of air pollution caused by thermal power plants are far more serious than those caused by hydropower stations. It is a waste of food for environmental experts not to pursue the construction of thermal power plants.
