Where is Tianshan Mountain?

Tianshan-northwest is located in the central part of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and the western section extends to the territory of the former Soviet Union, with a total length of 2,500 kilometers. It is about1500km long in China and 400km wide in the west. The eastern section (east of Urumqi) narrows, with a width of only about 100 km. It consists of several parallel mountains and intermountain basins, which are roughly east-west, with an altitude of 3000-0. Tomur Peak, the highest peak, is 7439 meters above sea level. The top of the mountain is covered with snow all year round and there are many glaciers. There are many faults in Tianshan Mountain, and many mountains are caused by fault rise. For example, Bogda Mountain is a typical horst. There are a series of fault-block subsidence basins in the middle of the mountain range, such as Yili Valley in the west and Turpan Basin in the east. Tianshan Mountain is the source of Yili River, Aksu River and other rivers, and the boundary mountain between Tarim Basin and Junggar Basin. The northern part of the mountain is called "Northern Xinjiang" and the southern part is called "Southern Xinjiang". Geologically and geomorphologically, Tianshan Mountain can be divided into three zones: north, middle and south. The northern Tianshan Mountains are close to Junggar Basin, and the peaks are mostly at an altitude of 4000-5500 meters. For example, Bogda Mountain, east of Urumqi, is 5445 meters above sea level. There is the famous Tianchi Lake in the mountain, which is a scenic spot in the Tianshan Mountains. The Middle Tianshan Mountains consist of a series of parallel mountains, with many fault basins sandwiched between them. The elevation of mountains is generally below 3500 meters. Ili Valley in the west is one of the largest intermountain basins in Tianshan Mountains. South Tianshan Mountain is close to Tarim Basin, with the highest mountain potential. Many peaks are 5000-6000 meters above sea level, and Tomur Peak, the highest peak in Tianshan Mountain, is here. 1On July 25th, 975, China mountaineers reached the summit for the first time. Tianshan Mountains extend eastward to Gansu Province, and are connected with the mountains such as Heli Mountain and Longshou Mountain on the north side of Hexi Corridor. But these mountains are intermittent, and the mountains are low.

The vast Tianshan Mountains, with a total length of 2,500 kilometers, span the hinterland of Asia and are the natural dividing line between Tarim Basin and Junggar Basin. Tianshan Tianchi Scenic Area is centered on alpine lakes, surrounded by snow peaks and spruces, with clear water like a mirror and picturesque scenery. It was called "Yaochi" in ancient times, and the legendary flat peach meeting of the Chinese and Western Queen Mother was located here. The name "Tianchi" comes from the Qing Dynasty, which means "Tianjing, Shenchi" and expresses the beauty of the scenery here. The lake is a collection of melting snow in the mountains, with a water depth of nearly 100 meters, which is pure and pleasant. Every summer, the lake is full of green grass, birds and flowers, and the most beautiful. Even in midsummer, the temperature of the lake is quite low. Sitting on a yacht, blowing a cool breeze and sailing on the lake is a good place for summer vacation. Tianchi is backed by Bogda Peak. The mountain peaks are covered with snow all year round. Standing on the edge of Tianchi, overlooking Xuefeng, it has a unique flavor. On the hillside around Tianchi, there are many spruce forests, which are pagoda-shaped famous landscape trees. Dark green spruce forest is tall and straight, neat and magnificent, showing the unique scenery of alpine scenic spots. The clear lake, snow-capped peaks and lush pine forests constitute the charming scenery of Tianchi.

You can go to Tianchi by bus from Urumqi. When going up the mountain, the mountain road twists and turns, accompanied by a swift stream, which is the water of Tianchi. The clean stream hits the rocks, arousing snow-white spray, which makes people feel a fresh breath.
