How about going to Wutai Mountain at the end of April? Is it fun?
"Gold five, silver putuo. Copper Emei, Tiejiuhua. " Wutai Mountain is the first of the four major Buddhists in China and the five major Buddhist shrines in the world. There are many devout Buddhists in this unique Buddhist Dojo in China, where the Qing Temple (Han Buddhism) and the Yellow Temple (Tibetan Buddhism) complement each other. They worship in three steps just to complete their faith. When the sun rises, the morning light is projected on the brick walls of many temples, and there is indeed an illusion of entering a fairyland. Of course, Wutai Mountain also has its lovely places, spectacular sunrise and sea of clouds, splendid mountain flowers, flocks of cattle and sheep, and colorful prayer flags fluttering in the wind on the mountain ... attracting countless donkeys who are hiking. In this sacred place, hiking is not so simple, but also adds a sense of pilgrimage.
Taihuai Town: Surrounded by Wutai Mountain, it is also the transportation hub and accommodation center of Wutai Mountain.
Hongmen Banquet: The northern gate of Wutai Mountain, which usually departs from Tai Chao Tai, is more than 40 miles away from Taihuai Town.
Lion Rock: the most popular place in Wutai Mountain.
Optimal travel time
Summer (July-August) is the best season to travel to Wutai Mountain. Wutai Mountain is full of vitality, with thousands of trees competing for glory, pines and cypresses, thick green herbs and wild flowers, cows, donkeys and mules grazing on the top of the platform, and pavilions are full of birds and flowers.
Only by going to the five platforms at the top of the platform can we go from May to September. There are not many people and the scenery is beautiful. There are all kinds of wild flowers in Nanping Terrace. If you just go to Taihuai Town to pray, there is no time limit. You can choose the first day and the fifteenth day. You can go in winter if you want to be quiet. In winter, there are no tourists even in Wu Ye Temple and Daluoding. It's really a Buddhist paradise. It is suggested that in order to enjoy the scenery, it is best to avoid the fifteenth day of the first day.
Dress guide
Generally speaking, there is a microclimate in mountainous areas. Even if it is sunny outside the mountain, there will be heavy rain and hail in the mountain. So for donkeys, the weather forecast can only be used as a reference. If you go to the top of the mountain to watch the sunrise, you need to rent a military coat.
In spring and autumn (March-May, 9- 165438+ 10), the temperature difference between inside and outside the station is large in the morning and evening, especially in May and 65438+ 10, so sweaters and trousers are needed.
Even in the most comfortable season of summer (June-August), you should bring rain gear when there is a lot of rain, and wear a coat in the morning and evening to keep warm and pay attention to sun protection.
Winter (65438+February-February) is the coldest time in Wutai Mountain. There are few people at this time, so it is relatively difficult to climb the mountain. Pay special attention to keep warm.
Custom taboo
Religious etiquette
1, please incense: shopping in other places can be called buying, and buying incense in temples is called "please";
2. Palm: When worshipping Buddha, the palm is up, which is a respect for Buddha. Palm down is ancestor worship;
3, incense: go to the place where incense is burned, don't go to the place where incense is inserted, and don't try to light it with your own lighter;
4, left and right: please use your left hand to incense, Buddhism believes that your left hand is the cleanest, and then respectfully insert your right hand into the incense burner;
5, make a wish: usually you have to remember to tell the Buddha what your name is, where you live, what you want, and where you want to make a wish after things are done; Most believers kowtow and make wishes no matter which temple they go to, but they really don't know that Buddha and Bodhisattva have everything. If you don't know which Buddha and Bodhisattva you are asking for, what should Buddha and Bodhisattva do? Therefore, when you bow down, please know the names of Buddha and Bodhisattva.
6. Instruments: There are many instruments in Buddhism, such as wooden fish and stools. After worshipping Buddha, you can touch it a little to get the spirit of Buddha. But be careful not to touch my Buddha.
7. Every temple has a formal place to invite incense. Don't believe in the so-called rich incense, wisdom incense and longevity incense, turn simple incense burning into complex and aristocratic, and mislead pilgrims to buy complete sets at high prices. If you are sincere, it is enough to burn three incense sticks in front of the Buddha in each temple.
Shangxiang etiquette
The correct way to burn incense is: pick up three sticks of incense, hold the incense in your left hand, light it, put the incense head up, and gently fan out the fire with your right hand. Don't blow with your mouth or wave incense. Hold the incense stick with your left and right forefinger, hold the incense end with your left and right thumb, so that the incense head is flat on the Buddha statue, then lift the Qi Mei for one offering, walk to the incense burner, first insert it in the middle, and support the buddhas in ten directions; Then insert the right hand into the right hand to support all ten methods; Then insert the left branch with your left hand to support the ten monks, insert three branches in a row, then worship Buddha three times and bow down to ask questions. This is the process of worshipping Buddha. But in places where incense is flourishing, it is not convenient to insert it directly into the incense burner. Just throw the incense into the stove with your left hand.
Etiquette of worshipping Buddha
When you enter the Buddhist temple, you should lean against the door. Girls should step forward with their right legs, and boys should step forward with their left legs. It is not advisable to walk in the middle. It is reserved for monks. When worshipping Buddha in a Buddhist temple, most people like to occupy a mat in the middle. In fact, the one in the middle is used by abbots, monks or mages when they are performing Buddhism. It is not suitable for ordinary believers to worship Buddha in this position. When worshipping Buddha, first worship the main Buddha in the middle, and then worship other buddhas and bodhisattvas in turn clockwise. When you worship Buddha, you should face the Buddha statue. No matter what icon you worship, you should name it.
