Liquan County governs 1 1 town and four townships: Chengguan Town, Shide Town, Xizhangbao Town, Qiandong Town, Huofeng Town, Xia Yan Town, Zhao Zhen Town, Jianling Town, Chigan Town, Nanfang Town, Shitan Town, Yaowangdong Township, New Town, Ma Jun Township and Zhaoling Township.

Liquan County is located between east longitude10817 ′ 40 ″-10841′ 46 ″ and north latitude 34 20 ′ 50 ″-34 50 ′ 02 ″, belonging to the middle of Guanzhong Plain. At an altitude of 402- 1467 meters, there are four distinct seasons in the northern mountainous area and the southern plateau, with the same season of rain and heat, moderate temperature and good natural environment. The terrain is high in the northwest and low in the southeast, which is stepped down and divided into three landforms: mountain, platform and Sichuan. The northern part is hilly and gully region, with Wufeng Mountain (elevation 1, 467m), Jiuzhang Mountain, chao yang shan and Fangshan Mountain. It stretches for more than 40 miles from west to east, accounting for 34% of the county's total area.

After the establishment of People's Republic of China (PRC) (1949 10), 1950 was changed to Xianyang area, 1953 10 was changed to Baoji area, and1956/kloc-0 was changed to provincial jurisdiction. 1958 12 Liquan County was revoked and merged into Ganxian County. 196 1 Liquan County was rebuilt in September.
