Lushan District is a municipal district of Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province. It is close to the center of Jiujiang, bordering the Yangtze River to the north, Poyang Lake to the east, and Mount Lushan, a tourist summer resort, to the south. The total area is 495 square kilometers (548 square kilometers). The total population is 220,000 (2012), with a total population of 860 from 23 ethnic minorities.

There is Jiujiang Yangtze River Terminal in the north, Jiujiang Lushan Airport in the west, Beijing-Kowloon, Wuhan-Jiujiu, Jiuhe and other railways; Changjiu Expressway, Jingjiu Expressway, 105 National Highway and other expressways pass through it.
Famous scenic spots include Lushan Mountain, Bailu Cave, one of the four major academies in the Song Dynasty, the primitive Bilongtan, Donglin Temple and Xilin Temple, the ancestral hall of the Pure Land Sect, Tiefo Temple, Shimen Stream, and the Quaternary Glacier Site , Poyang Lake Migratory Bird Sanctuary, etc. The eminent monk Huiyuan of the Eastern Jin Dynasty established the Lotus Society here and founded the Pure Land Lotus Sect of Buddhism. Zhou Dunyi, the founder of Neo-Confucianism in the Song and Ming dynasties, was buried here.
