Geographical environment of Gaobeidian

Gaobeidian has a temperate continental monsoon climate, with frost-free period 183 days, annual average temperature 12.4℃ and annual average precipitation of 600 mm.

Winter is controlled by the winter wind system for half a year, which is cold and dry, with little snowfall, dry and windy in spring, rapid temperature rise and hot and rainy in summer. The flood season in Gaobeidian is from June 1 to August 3 1 every year. The average annual precipitation in Gaobeidian in summer is 332.0mm, accounting for 67% of the whole year, with late July and early August as the main flood season, commonly known as "seven rains and eight falls". Autumn is crisp, but there are many rainy days. Baigou River runs through the north and south from the center of Gaobeidian, and South Juma River flows along the southwest border. The Ziquan River, Cangshang River, Langou River, Doumen River and Liangyun River converge from north to south and pour into Baiyangdian Lake through the inverted siphon of Juma River. Lusheng River and Dashagou flow into Xiong, Gu and Ba water systems from north to south.
