During my trip to Nepal many years ago, I set foot on The Way to Lumbini with a sincere heart. In 623 BC, the founder of Buddhism, Sakyamuni, was born in a famous garden in Lumbini (now Nepal), which later became a place of pilgrimage. Now it has gradually become a pilgrimage center for Buddhists, featuring archaeological remains of the birth of the Buddha.

Gautama Siddharta, who was born in Lumbini 3000 years ago, is the prince of Kapilovi Kingdom (now Nepal) in ancient India. His surname is Gautama and his name is Siddhartha. Siddhartha Gautama's father was King Kapilau, and his mother, Mrs. Moyev, died seven days after Siddhartha Gautama was born and was raised by her aunt. Siddhartha Gautama received the traditional education of Brahmanism when he was a teenager, and later married yaodharā, the daughter of King Jueshan, and had children, and lived a luxurious and carefree life since childhood. Buddha Sakyamuni entered nirvana at the age of 80 and died in the nirvana forest near Naga City.

Lumbini, located at the junction of southwest Nepal and India, is a cultural site protected by the Nepalese government in Lupandi County, 280 kilometers away from Kathmandu. This is a sacred place, the white square Mahamoyev Temple, which is solemn, exquisite and elegant. Ming Che, a pool of clear water next to the temple, is like a mirror, shining with golden light under the sunlight. There is a Miluo tree by the pool. Its trunk is tall and straight, and its broad crown leaves a shade for the temple. Lumbini has a temple to commemorate the birth of Buddha, which enshrines the stone carving of Sakyamuni's birth. In the north of the temple stands a famous Ashoka stone pillar engraved with the inscription "the place where the Buddha was born". Lumbini, the birthplace of Sakyamuni, has become a place of pilgrimage.

The monarch of India, the Indian emperor Ashoka, is also one of his admirers. He is a devout Buddhist. He not only ordered the exemption of all exorbitant taxes and levies near the birthplace of the Buddha, but also recorded in Buddhist books that King Ashoka set up a stone tablet at the exact place where the Buddha was born as a memorial. Now it has gradually become a pilgrimage center for Buddhists, featuring archaeological remains and the birthplace of the Buddha. Here you are. Every day, countless worshippers and devout Buddhists come here across Qian Shan, offering their gifts and expressing their sincere wishes.

More than 65,438+0,500 years ago, Fa Xian, a monk of the Jin Dynasty in China, crossed Xinjiang, quicksand and green ridge, and came to Lumbini via India, becoming the first foreigner to visit Nepal with real records. Xuanzang, a famous monk in the Tang Dynasty, also came here to worship and learn from the scriptures in 633 AD. Since the establishment of 1978 Lumbini Development Zone, many Buddhist countries in the world have built luxurious Buddhist temples around the birthplace of the Buddha. Each one is unique, so they constitute a great collection of various Buddhist schools all over the world.

From 65438 to 0997, Lumbini (the birthplace of Buddha) was listed as a cultural heritage in the World Heritage List by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee.
