High score for all Nicolas Cage movies
Nicolas Cage was born on January 7, 1964. His surname is Coppola. He is the nephew of Coppola, the great director who is famous for films such as "The Godfather" and "Apocalypse Now" . As a member of the Coppola family, he grew up in an environment full of music and books, and developed a habit of observation. It has also been his long-standing dream to become a film actor. In 1982, Nicholas won a role in the film "The Open School", which was his first film work. The following year, he participated in the films "Valley Girl" and "Betta". "Fighting Fish" is a film directed by Cage's uncle Coppola. In order to distinguish himself from his uncle, Cage decided that he needed an identity of his own, and finally settled on the name Cage.
In 1984, Cage played the leading role in the famous film "Birdman". He plays Birdman's best friend, a Vietnam War veteran who tries to help Birdman return to normal. In order to play this facially damaged character, Cage had two teeth removed, wore bandages on his face for five weeks, and lost 15 pounds. In "Birdman", he fully demonstrated his extraordinary acting skills and began to attract people's attention. However, Cage did not become popular with this film, but was in a state of being noticed but not famous. In the same year, Cage also filmed films such as "The Cotton Club" and "The Order of Love", both of which also performed well.
In 1986, Cage starred in two more films, "Melancholy Boy" and "Peggy Sue is Getting Married", but they did not have much impact. But 1987 was a very successful year for Cage. He first played a man who wanted to steal other people's babies because he was infertile in "Raising Arizona," and then played a baker who lost one of his hands in "Moonlight." These two films have good reviews among film critics, but they are not very popular films. In 1988, he had a quite eye-catching film "Vampire's Kiss". In the film, Cage plays a New York yuppie who later becomes a vampire. This film can be called Cage's most "excessive" performance since he started filming. He even actually swallowed a cockroach alive while filming. But that unlucky cockroach seemed to bring him good luck. After that, his somewhat tired and low-key image began to be accepted by people. In 1990, he performed in "Firebirds Attack" again, which also had a pretty good performance.
In the same year, Nicolas Cage played the protagonist in the film "Wild at Heart" directed by American avant-garde director David Lynch. Cage's character in the film is based on rock and roll legend Elvis Presley. The film has a strange and strong image style. At the same time, it has a surreal atmosphere. At the end of the film, Cage is wearing a snakeskin jacket and standing on top of rolling traffic to sing Elvis Presley's famous song "Love Me Tender", which has become a classic scene in the history of movies. However, after "Wild at Heart", Cage did not repeat the path of this rebellious youth because his appearance was not suitable for this type of role. He continued to try out various roles in small-budget films. In 1992, he played a detective in the movie "Are You Lonely Tonight" who tried his best to win back the beauty after losing his fiancée to a casino. In 1993, Cage starred in films such as "Red Rock West", "Black and White" and "Super Gambler", all of which were small-scale productions that were either well-received or not well-received.
Cage's several films shot in 1994 aroused good response. In "The First Lady's Bodyguard", he played an agent who protects the former president's wife. In "Allure," he played an honest policeman who kept his word and gave half of his lottery winnings to a waitress as a tip. In "Trouble in Paradise", he played another robber who was inspired by the residents of a small town and turned from evil to good. Cage's performance in the film is also quite outstanding. However, he seemed to be tired of playing this kind-hearted little guy, so in 1995, his image changed dramatically. In the movie "Kiss of Death," Cage played a cold-blooded killer. In order to play the role of this fierce and strong killer, he also specially strengthened his physical exercise to achieve the appearance effect. Later he took on the film "Leaving Las Vegas". "Leaving Las Vegas" is a small-production film with a cost of only $3.5 million. In fact, after acting in the film "Are You Lonely Tonight?", Cage once said, "I want a good role that I can invest my soul in!" And in "Leaving Las Vegas" , Cage invested more than just his soul. In addition to his full dedication, he only received a meager salary. In this film, Cage received only one-tenth of his usual salary! But his soul-deep performance earned him a glittering Oscar, something money can't put a price on. After becoming famous, Cage changed his acting style.
In the film "Shattered", Cage played a chemical weapons expert. He used his superb acting skills to make up for the director's lack of character portrayal. The sensation caused by the film after its release is just like the title of the film, which is "earth-shattering". Nicolas Cage became Hollywood's hottest action star overnight. After the completion of "Breaking Impact", he successively signed contracts for two action films "Face" and "Sky Prison".
Nicolas Cage is becoming another action-packed box office star in Hollywood. Since then, he has starred in many blockbuster films, and of course has not given up on his beloved independent films.
