Guinea year-round temperature and climate

The average annual temperature across the country is about 26 degrees. The average absolute maximum temperature is 35 degrees, and the average absolute minimum temperature is 17 degrees. Some areas are hot all year round, with an average annual temperature of 24-32 degrees.

The air pressure in Guinea is quite stable, and pressures below 1,000 millibars are extremely rare. The air pressure changes very regularly throughout the day. It is usually highest at 10:00 and lowest at 16:00, with little change at night.

The wind direction is different between the dry and rainy seasons in Guinea. The Hamadan wind blows from the northeast in the dry season, and the monsoon wind blows from the southwest in the wet season. During the seasonal changes before and after the rainy season, the monsoon squeezes the Hamadan wind, which can trigger short-lived and violent African hurricanes. In areas such as Kangkang in Upper Guinea, easterly and northeasterly winds dominate from October to December and January to February, while westerly and southwesterly winds dominate from March to September; the winds are strongest in June, July and August. The average wind speed in the coastal areas of Lower Guinea is 2-6 km/h in the morning, begins to increase at noon, and reaches 10 km/h after 18:00.
