Geographical location of kumquat in Youxi
Kumquat in Youxi County was first planted in Hongpai Village of Baziqiao. According to the Records of Youxi County in the 50th year of Kangxi (17 1 1) in Qing Dynasty, "Kumquat is really a long jujube and a round kumquat. There is also kumquat, commonly known as Jindou. " It can be seen that kumquat has been cultivated in Youxi for at least 300 years. Youxi kumquat has a single variety, all of which are gold bullets. For hundreds of years, after long-term cultivation and continuous reproduction by fruit farmers, Youxi has good natural and geographical conditions, mild climate, abundant rainfall and rich soil organic matter. The kumquat produced is famous for its large fruit, thin skin, bright color and delicious taste. The county's kumquat planting area is more than 6,800 hectares, of which the picking area is 6,000 hectares and the output is 38,000 tons. Youxi Kumquat is distributed in more than 60 villages in 12 townships, and 14 key villages such as Lvliu, Hongcun and Hongpai have established standardized planting demonstration areas of 1,000 mu and 100 mu. In Guanqian, Baziqiao and other towns, Youxi kumquat has become the main source of income for local farmers, and professional kumquat growers such as Zheng Daojian in hong cun, Wu in Houqu Village and Zhuo Chunsheng in Lvliu Village have emerged. Youxi County has become one of the four major kumquat producing areas in China.
