Speech on Meteorological Day

Speech can be used to exchange thoughts and feelings, express opinions and opinions; It can also be used to introduce your study, work and experience. Speech has the function of propaganda, encouragement, education and appreciation. It can convey the speaker's views, opinions, thoughts and feelings to the audience and readers, so that they can be convinced and have a * * * voice in their thoughts and feelings. The following is my speech on Meteorological Day. Welcome to reading.

Speech by teachers and students on the first Meteorological Day:

Hello everyone!

March 23rd every year is World Meteorological Day.

As we all know, the earth is a planet with frequent natural disasters, and weather and climate disasters account for more than 70% of natural disasters. According to relevant data, the number of major meteorological disasters in the world has increased five times compared with half a century ago, and the average number of people affected by them is 2 1 1 100 million, which is seven times that affected by war conflicts. Ecological and environmental disasters related to meteorological conditions, such as soil erosion, debris flow, landslide, collapse, land subsidence, forest and grassland fires, agricultural and forestry grassland pests and diseases, have brought people pain again and again. In the face of bad weather and climate disasters, human society is extremely fragile; The wind blew down the house; Floods caused by heavy rains flooded farmland; Long-term drought caused crops to dry up and livestock to die of thirst; High temperature, extreme heat, low temperature and severe cold lead to an increase in patients and mortality; Lightning kills people and causes fires. Let's just say that the snowstorm that happened in the south of China last winter was once in a hundred years. Although there are still many uncertainties in the global climate, it is obvious that climate makes the global environment and human society more fragile and seriously affects the sustainable development of the world economy and society.

Students, clean air, clean fresh water and fertile unpolluted soil are essential to the sustainable development of mankind. It is everyone's unshirkable responsibility to protect every green land, cherish every tree, save every resource and protect the health and life of human beings and the environment of future generations.

Please don't forget-we only have one earth, and this is our common home. In order to have a bright future for us, let's all act and do our little bit! I suggest you start from the following aspects:

1, save paper, use paper on both sides, and recycle waste paper;

2. Refuse to use disposable articles;

3, use more water, turn off the tap by hand, use less detergent, and don't dump garbage and waste water into the river;

4. Use energy-saving lamps, turn off the lights conveniently, and save electricity;

5, protect flowers and trees, cherish every grain of food, and leave no bottom of the bowl when eating;

6. Don't wear clothes made of animal fur, use less canned food and drinks, and don't throw away waste dry batteries.

We still have a lot of work to do. As long as I firmly establish environmental awareness and be strict with myself, we can grow up healthily in a green world. Ok, that's the end of today's speech under the national flag. Goodbye, class.

Dear teachers and students:

Good Morning, everyone!

We are all familiar with June 1- International Children's Day, May 3 1- World No Tobacco Day and March 12- Arbor Day. So tomorrow, March 23rd, is World Meteorological Day, do you know?

195 1 On March 23rd, the former International Meteorological Organization was reorganized into the World Meteorological Organization, which became an intergovernmental international meteorological cooperation organization and established relations with the United Nations. 1960 In June, the Executive Council of the World Meteorological Organization decided to designate March 23rd every year as the global memorial day. Set a theme for World Meteorological Day every year, and ask member countries to hold celebrations on this day every year, mainly to let the vast number of countries better understand the outstanding contributions made by the World Meteorological Organization and promote the application of meteorology in human activities such as aviation, navigation, water conservancy and agriculture.

In recent 10 years, natural disasters caused by global warming, ozone hole, acid rain and other climate problems are increasing day by day. Although the global economic losses caused by natural disasters average as high as $69.4 billion every year, the losses caused by three meteorological disasters, namely rainstorm, flood, typhoon and drought, account for the vast majority. In China, meteorological disasters account for more than 70% of all natural disasters. What should we do in the face of these frightening phenomena and amazing data?

Although we are only students now and can't make great contributions to the environment of all mankind, we can start from the environment around us and protect the environment of the school. For example, we should abide by the regulations prohibiting littering and throw garbage into designated places or containers; Cherish every food, don't throw food around when eating, and don't leave leftovers; Avoid using disposable beverage cups, lunch boxes and plastic bags, and use paper boxes instead, which can greatly reduce garbage, reduce the pressure of garbage disposal, care for flowers and trees, and keep the campus clean.

Although these are trivial matters, as long as we work together to save resources, reduce pollution and adjust our way of life, we can make contributions to protecting the earth.

Speech by teachers and students on "Meteorological Day 3":

Hello everyone!

Meteorology refers to the state and phenomena of the atmosphere, such as cold, hot, dry, wet, wind, clouds, rain, snow and so on. The influence of the atmosphere on human physiological activities is different in different periods. World Meteorological Day, also known as International Meteorological Day, is the anniversary of the establishment of the World Meteorological Organization, which falls on March 23rd every year.

The International Meteorological Organization was established in Vienna on September 1873 to promote international meteorological cooperation, including coordinated observation and standardization of meteorological instruments. At present, the World Meteorological Organization has 188 members from various countries and regions, and its responsibilities have also extended to water and environmental issues.

The international community is striving to achieve the United Nations Millennium Development Goals, especially in human health, food, water security and poverty reduction, and in improving the effectiveness of preventing and mitigating natural disasters, 90% of which are directly related to weather, climate and water disasters, and therefore fall within the responsibility of the World Meteorological Organization. In addition, scientists and medical professionals are increasingly aware of the important relationship between weather, climate, air composition we breathe and its impact on human health.

For centuries, in order to keep in harmony with climate and environmental conditions, human beings have tried to fully and reasonably adapt to the influence of weather and climate by adjusting their living, food production, energy supply and lifestyle. However, in the past few decades, population growth, increased energy use and industrial development have promoted the emission of various gases and particles, which can and do affect human health. Therefore, the decline in air quality has aggravated the prevalence of asthma, heart disease and lung cancer. In addition, plants, crops and ecosystems are deeply affected by air pollution, which affects the global economy, food, water security and sustainable development.

As early as 1950s, the World Meteorological Organization took the lead in coordinating the observation and analysis of atmospheric composition. At present, by using a global network consisting of ground observation stations, remote sensing stations, balloon radiosondes, airplanes and satellites, information on greenhouse gases, aerosols and ozone, as well as traditional meteorological and hydrological parameters can be collected regularly. This helps people to understand the changing atmospheric chemical composition and lays a scientific foundation for us to understand the influence of weather and climate on air quality and the interaction between atmospheric composition and weather and climate.

Therefore, people's health problems are closely related to weather, that is, atmospheric changes. Wind, rain, snow, sunlight and temperature will all have different degrees of influence on the transport and retention of atmospheric pollutants. The heat generated by cities will capture pollutants, while rain and snow will wash pollutants from the atmosphere to land and sea. Scientists can use meteorological models to evaluate and predict the distribution of air pollution. Therefore, timely, appropriate and accurate air quality forecast is helpful to protect people's lives and property, and it is also a supplement to more traditional weather forecasts.

The World Health Organization estimates that an average of 2 million minors die from air pollution every year. Even if the concentration of ozone, particulate matter and related pollutants is relatively low, it will have a subtle impact on respiratory and heart health, especially in developing countries. Therefore, air quality forecast has important early warning ability, which is helpful to reduce the harm related to air pollutants. With the development and expansion of metropolis, urban pollution has had an impact on more and more people in the world. Nearly half the world's population lives in big cities. Dust content is also crucial to air quality. Dust will reduce visibility, harm crops and affect the local climate.

Recognizing that people's health is closely related to the environment, we should be kind to the environment and not condone all kinds of things that destroy the environment. Because we only have one earth, only when people live in peace with nature can human beings survive and develop better.
