Maoming City belongs to Guangdong Province. Maoming, a prefecture-level city in Guangdong Province. Located in the South China Sea coast of China, in the southwest of Guangdong Province, with its back to the southwest of the motherland. It governs Maonan District and Dianbai District, and Gaozhou City, Huazhou City and Xinyi City.

Maoming City faces the sea with the back of the mountain, which is high in the north and low in the south, and inclines from northeast to southwest, with the highest elevation of 1704m and the lowest elevation of1.6m. There are three mountains in the north and northeast, namely, cloud opening, hook leakage and fog gathering. Rivers in the territory crisscross and cut each other, forming a distinct landform of mountains, hills, terraces and plains.

The mountainous area mainly consists of Yunkaishan from the north, Dayun Mountain from the northeast and Goulou Mountain from the northwest. The border area between the southeast of Xinyi and the northeast of Gaozhou has a mountainous area of more than 500 meters above sea level 1.300 square kilometers, and the elevation of Datiandian, the main peak, is 1.704 meters, making it the second highest peak in Guangdong Province. Mianbeiding (at the junction of Gaozhou and Xinyi) is at an altitude of1627m, and Ehuangzhang (at the junction of Dianbai and Yangchun) is at an altitude of1337m. This mountain area forms a barrier in the north of the city, blocking the cold air flow in the north in winter and reducing the harm of cold current to the headquarters. In spring and summer, the warm mass from the south rises, which leads to abundant rainfall in the southern mountainous area of our city. There are many rivers and abundant water resources in mountainous areas, which are the main areas for forestry and hydropower development.

Maoming City is located in the south of the Tropic of Cancer and belongs to the subtropical monsoon climate zone, with obvious monsoon and diverse climate types, with northerly winds prevailing in winter and southeast winds prevailing in summer.
