A concrete version of the story of the little hero Wang Erxiao.

1929, Wang Erxiao was born in a poor peasant family in Shangzhuang Village, Laiyuan County.

In contact with the anti-Japanese soldiers and civilians, he gradually understood the truth of anti-Japanese and joined the anti-Japanese youth league.

Langya Pass is an important pass of the Great Wall, the main road from Laiyuan to Fuping, and the only way for Japanese troops to sweep. Wang Erxiao often stood guard for the Eighth Route Army by herding cattle on the hillside, and took time to mow the grass, send military shoes and deliver letters to the Eighth Route Army, thus doing a lot of work for War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.

1October 25th, 1942, 10, the Japanese came to "mop up" again and got lost when they reached the mountain pass. The enemy saw Wang Erxiao herding cattle on the hillside and asked him to lead the way. Wang Erxiao pretended to be obedient and went ahead. In order to protect the displaced villagers, he led the enemy into the ambush circle of the Eighth Route Army.

Suddenly, gunshots rang out in all directions, and the enemy knew that he had been cheated. In desperation, he stabbed Wang Erxiao to death with a bayonet. Wang Erxiao, a witty and brave little hero, was brutally killed by the Japanese invaders and died in Langyakou Village, Laiyuan County at the age of 13.

Wang Erxiao's later influence:

After Wang Erxiao's sacrifice, "cows are still grazing on the hillside, but the cowherd doesn't know where they are. It's not that he lost his cow because of his fun, but Wang Erxiao, the boy who herded cattle. " Years have passed, and more than 70 years have passed in a blink of an eye. A song "Singing Two Little Cowboys" has been sung in China for more than half a century.

The Wang Erxiao Memorial Hall in Laiyuan County retains the inscription of General Xiao Ke, former deputy commander of the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Military Region: "Monument to Wang Erxiao, a young hero of the Anti-Japanese War".
