We set off in the morning of May 23, 2020. They started from Longhu and I started from the city. We made an appointment to meet at the Yuntaishan Service Area at 7:30, then turned to Jiaohui Highway and then to Baobao Road. (Thin Flat Line), passes through Baoquanshang Reservoir, Tantou Village, and Pingdian Village and enters Magee Township, Lingchuan County, Jincheng, Shanxi Province. There are several viewing platforms on the road, and we stopped at the most beautiful viewing platform for ten minutes to rest and take photos.

Entering Shanxi and continuing on, passing through Taihang Water Town - Wujiawan, Wujiawan Village is an administrative village in Magedang Township, Lingchuan County, Jincheng City, Shanxi Province, located 50 kilometers southeast of the county, and It borders Pingdian Village, Bobi Township, Huixian City, Henan Province, where Mo River and Men River converge. The climate here is warm and the water is abundant. It is known as "Little Jiangnan" and "Taihang Pinghu".

I have been to Wujiawan many times, so I didn’t stop here this time. Continue walking for more than ten kilometers and you will reach the entrance of Shibatan - Butterfly Valley. The Eighteen Tanks are located in the Butterfly Valley in Badonghe Village, Magedang Township, Pingshun County. Due to the erosion of hundreds of millions of years of rain, they have formed many smooth, steep, arc-shaped and deep valleys of different sizes and shapes. The pit is shaped like a vat, and the vats are connected to each other. The pits are dangerous, so they are called + eight vats for easy memorization.

They all came from other provinces. There are people from Jiangsu, Shandong, Hebei, etc. They stayed at the Shibatan Inn the day before and set off for the tank before eight o'clock this morning.

Because we were afraid of "traffic jams" due to the large number of people climbing the tank, and seeing a steady stream of vehicles arriving, we quickly armed ourselves and advanced into the 18th tank.

After entering the Butterfly Valley and walking about three kilometers, you will reach the first tank. Go down a crooked wooden ladder and enter the tank. After that, you will continue to climb up the tank and enter the tank.

Our 9-year-old "veteran team member" Xiao Ruochen, although young, has been working as a donkey for four years. He never needs help when climbing ladders and ropes, and every time he excitedly says he wants to do it again. I never go down there once, haha! So cute.

At about 13:00, we arrived under the 600-year-old white pine tree on the top of the mountain. We took photos at home, ate and rested until 2:30, and then started going down the mountain. Before 5 o'clock, we descended to the village next to the road at the foot of the mountain.

Then we drove on and stayed at Xiaohua Farmhouse in Shuangdi Village that night. I stewed two chickens raised by Xiaohua’s family. The chicken soup was so delicious that I drank three bowls in a row. We also ordered a rainbow trout raised in the mountains and several special dishes. After eating and drinking, we played mahjong and chatted.

The next day, we slept until we woke up naturally, then after breakfast, we all entered the Yew Grand Canyon.

The Yew Grand Canyon is located in Shuangdi Village, Majedang Township, southeast of Lingchuan County, Jincheng City, Shanxi Province, in the southern part of the Taihang Mountains. The former site of Shuangnao Hydropower Station, the 72-turn stone steps, the rare plant yew trees, etc.

The mountains and water are beautiful, and everyone had a great time.

The roads in the canyon are flat, the water is clear, and the rocks are ever-changing. The beauties had a lot of fun, shooting a lot of videos for Douyin. At noon, the landlady cooked eggs and tomatoes to fill up the noodles.

After dinner, we set off in the car, passing through the Heimaogou Grand Canyon, the 72nd Turn North Gate of the Baijing Ancient Road, Huangwei Mountain and other scenic spots, until we walked to a few kilometers away from Lingchuan County, and then Turn to National Highway 207 (Xiuling Road), walk towards Yuntai Mountain, pass through Duohuo Township, go up to Yuntai Scenic Area, and then exit from Yuntai Mountain Scenic Area.

There is a magical road on Yuntai Mountain that is comparable to Qiu Ming Mountain. It not only has continuous hairpin bends, but also a deep tunnel with 180° turns. It is very exciting to think about it?

Here is the road tunnel leading to Zhuyu Peak, the main peak of Yuntai Mountain, which has won the "Guinness World Best" certificate. It has the largest number of spiral U-shaped artificial tunnels through the mountain. The miracle among the cliffs - Diecai Cave.

In these tunnels, experienced drivers must be careful when driving. Not only are there curved tunnels, but there are also minibuses in the scenic area. You must be especially careful when passing cars.

After descending the mountain safely, we gathered at the Yuntai Mountain service area to rest, then dispersed and returned home. This ended a two-day trip to Shanxi that was joyful, exciting and a little tiring.
