How to plant ginkgo trees

1 Seeding and seedling raising

Under the conditions of seed propagation and natural growth, it has strong dryness, high crown and few main branches; The seeds of artificially planted ginkgo trees should be harvested with large particles, and the mother tree with a tree age of about 80 years is the best. The harvested seeds should be peeled and dried in the shade. Autumn sowing can be done in the south, and spring sowing is suitable in the north. The seedbed should be sandy loam with good water permeability.

2 reproductive stage

Propagation of seedlings by sprouting in February and March, sprouting branches with half roots at the base were dug out from the tillering seedlings of strong female trees and planted in nurseries, with a diameter of 65438±0cm to 4 cm. Before planting, soil preparation and base fertilizer should be applied, and the planting depth should be appropriate, not too deep or too shallow, and there is no need to water after transplanting, because it will not be too dry.

3 Grafting propagation

Taking the strong branches in the full fruit period as scions, the seedlings were grafted by split grafting. When grafting, 2 ~ 3 scions are usually grafted on 1 rootstock. After the scion survives, the main branches are first extracted from the scion, and the top main branches grow vigorously, forming 1 ~ 2 main branches. Later, branches were drawn from these main branches to form several branches that expanded outward, and then branches were drawn to expand into a crown.

Take root in the ground

In May and June, the cuttings were cut into 65,438+00 ~ 65,438+05 cm with 3 ~ 4 leaves at the top and the lower part cut into Ma 'erpo. After soaking the substrate in water for 2 hours, plant the cuttings on the vermiculite sand bed and spray water intermittently to ensure that the leaves will not dry up and take root in about one and a half months to two months.

5 growth process

The seedlings planted with bare roots are in a slow seedling stage. Seedlings with clods can grow in the same year. After the seedlings are planted in rows, they are flooded. When planting a big tree, it is best to fill the pit with water before planting it. After the water in the pit infiltrates, plant big trees in the pit and tamp them so that the water in the pit can come back to moisten the roots.
