Climate in Canada

The climate in Canada is very different, and the temperature and precipitation in different areas vary greatly in each season. In the northern region, it is no exaggeration to say that the temperature reaches above 0 only in a few months of the year, so most people live in a narrow strip about 300 kilometers away from the southern border. Canada basically has a continental climate with four distinct seasons.

Canada has six climatic zones, each with different climatic characteristics:

1. Arctic region:

Including the Yukon and most of the Northwest, it is the coldest area in Canada.

Winter: long time (August to 10 month), extremely cold;

Summer: cold and short;

Winter nights, summer days up to 24 hours;

Precipitation: Very little, mostly in late summer.

2. Northern region:

It includes northern grassland provinces and most of Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic coastal provinces.

Winter: long time (more than 6 months) and cold;

Summer: cool and short (3 to 4 months);

Precipitation: mostly in summer, rare in northwest China.

3. Southeast region:

Including southeastern Ontario and Quebec, Nova Scotia, eastern Newfoundland, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, where it is warm in winter and cool in summer, it is the most densely populated place in Canada.

Winter: cold in Central China (about 5 months)/cold in East China and Southwest China (3-4 months);

Summer: April-May, warm and sometimes humid;

Precipitation: more in the east and moderate in the west.

4. Grassland areas:

Winter: cold (about 5 months);

Summer: cool (about 5 months);

Precipitation: mostly in summer.

5. Cordillera region:

Winter: The north is cold and long.

Summer: cool;

Precipitation: more in the west, less in the valley and south.

6. Pacific coast: Vancouver is located in this area.

Winter is mild, rarely below 0;

Summer: warm (4-5 months);

Precipitation: abundant, especially in winter.
