You must know the fog photography skills
Friends who like photography all know this saying. Extreme weather produces good pictures, such as rain, snow, and fog, which often lead to better pictures. Especially in foggy weather, the fog creates all kinds of things and changes into various forms. The dense fog hides artistic conception and its own unique color.
Autumn is prone to fog, so it is a good time to take photos of fog. We invited photographer Wang Ji Feixia to share with you the photography of foggy scenes based on his own experience. We hope that everyone can combine these techniques and methods to take wonderful and poetic works and create a "wonderland".
First of all, from the perspective of photography, photography is an art of subtraction. When fog appears between scenes, it can often make ordinary scenes appear strange because a large number of details are hidden. When shooting in fog, you can adjust the shooting distance to choose things that cannot be avoided on sunny days, and easily choose and eliminate them. Thus presenting a poetic beauty.
The scenery in the fog is looming, often the close shot is clear, the middle shot is hazy, and the distant view is blurred, with a rich sense of layering and space. At the same time, fog can cause incomplete scenery, and can recombine these incomplete scenery to form a new landscape effect. The natural white space left by fog on the scenery will produce the artistic conception and effect of traditional Chinese ink painting.
Allowing people to expand their unlimited spatial imagination is an important means of pictorial photography.
Why good films are easy to produce in foggy weather
1. The looming scenery in the fog can not only purify the background and make the picture more concise, but also increase the layering of the picture.
2. Mountains, grasslands, and forests are static scenery, while fog is flowing. The combination of movement and stillness can create different charms.
3. Some small scenery surrounded by fog can enhance the artistic conception and express one's own ideas.
Fourth, this item is also the most important. The moment when the rising sun breaks out of the shackles of clouds and fog, it is the beautiful scenery that many photography enthusiasts pursue.
Fog can also be divided into shades
1. Using light mist to shoot can get a better sense of air perspective, and the photos will have bright colors and better vision. Effect.
2. Use dense fog to shoot, because the strong shielding effect of fog can create an illusory and mysterious atmosphere, giving people a very strong visual experience.
3. In addition, if the wind speed is high, the fog in the morning and evening will sometimes be distributed in strips. This kind of fog is the most ideal shooting time, and it can often produce a fairyland-like effect. This kind of fog can produce a fairyland-like effect. Don't let it go, because the fog is often affected by the wind, and the fog changes instantly. You must seize the opportunity to shoot decisively, otherwise you will easily miss the opportunity.
When is the best time to take photos of fog?
In the evening and the next morning when the rain stops and becomes clear after the cold air passes. Generally, if it rained the day before or the air humidity is particularly high, and the temperature difference between morning and evening is large, and the weather is fine the next day, good fog will often appear in the mountains, rivers, lakes and other places.
Especially if it clears up after heavy rain and the sun is strong in the afternoon, there will be heavy fog the next morning. Therefore, we only need to go to the mountains early the next day after the rain to shoot, and we can usually capture the mist-shrouded landscape.
If you choose the environment properly, you may be lucky enough to capture a "paradise"-like effect.
Where is the best place to take pictures
Generally speaking, southern my country is foggy, especially in the spring or winter in the mountainous areas of Zhejiang and southern Anhui. Due to the relative humidity between the local environment and the outside temperature, Isolation, fog often forms when the temperature difference is significant.
But in autumn in the north, especially in mountainous areas, hills and forest areas with undulating terrain, morning fog will also appear, and it is more likely to occur after the cold air passes.
So if you want to shoot foggy scenes, you can choose a place surrounded by villages, rivers and mountains. When the humidity and temperature reach a certain difference between day and night, fog will form.
Shooting skills
1. Depending on the thickness of the fog, you can choose different shooting themes. Heavy fog makes small films, and thin mist makes large films. Generally speaking, it is a good time to take pictures when the dense fog is about to disperse and the fog layer splits and alternates between thick and light.
2. The color of the fog is relatively light. It is best to choose some dark scenes in the picture to balance the picture and achieve the finishing touch.
3. When shooting fog, the main method is to measure backlight. You can capture the texture and layers of fog.
4. Follow the principle of "white plus black minus" and increase the exposure of the camera appropriately.
5. Choose a good time and location for shooting. Shoot when the fog is still there and the sun is rising. Once the sun rises and the wind is strong, the fog will not only dissipate quickly, but the light ratio will also be greater. Increased photography difficulty. The half hour before and after sunrise is the best time to film. In terms of location selection, you must climb high and look far, because some dense fog will condense in lower areas, such as the sea and valleys, so buildings, mountains, etc., at this time you will show the work of "flying through the clouds and riding the fog".
6. Due to poor visibility when shooting foggy scenes, in order to have sufficient depth of field, the aperture is adjusted to F8 or F11 and the shutter speed is relatively slow, so a tripod must be used. While shooting, be careful not to let moisture on the lens affect the clarity.
7. The foggy scene is hazy, so the sense of space is not strong. We can increase the depth of the picture by increasing the foreground and highlighting the colors and curves of the foreground.
TIPS:
1. The humidity in foggy days is high, and the rocks are slippery when climbing. Pay attention to climbing safety.
2. When shooting in dense fog, visibility is often low, and appropriate lighting equipment such as flashlights should also be prepared.
3. Dense fog is usually mixed with rain, so rain gear should be prepared. After shooting, the equipment should be cleaned promptly and placed in a moisture-proof box to prevent mold.
4. The air humidity in the fog is very high. It is important to keep the camera moisture-proof and clean it after shooting.
