Chun Chieh Liu

In February, my 200th Division has advanced into the Huilongshan line outside Wan Ding.

He used to be the lieutenant platoon leader of the 200 th Division 599 th Regiment Aircraft Company (Huangpu 18). In order to strengthen the infantry, the battalion formed an assault platoon. I am the platoon leader, and Sergeant Xie Yunqing was transferred to the deputy platoon leader and directly under the command of the battalion headquarters. There are more than 50 soldiers in my platoon.

On the evening of February 4, 65438, our battalion arrived at Gongsa, the front of enemy Huilong Mountain. On the morning of the 5 th, the battalion sent people to the front of the enemy line to search, and the enemy only fired a few shots until dark.

Gonza is about 1000 meters long from east to west, showing a saddle shape with high west and low east. The Yunnan-Myanmar Highway is at the northern foot of Gongga. Gongsa and Huilongshan are the barriers of Wan Ding. At Xishantou, the enemy has a clearing about 400 meters long and 200 meters wide, which is the residence of people in white. After the occupation, all the residents were driven away. In order to clear the shooting boundary, residents' bamboo houses have been demolished or burned.

At dusk on the 5th, the battalion commander sent me and the second company commander Nong Guotai (Huangpu 17, Guangxi) to lead an intensive class to do night fire reconnaissance. Mount Gonza is steep in the north and gentle in the south, so we search from the south. Because it is a dry season, there are many dead branches and rotten leaves on the ground, even if the footsteps are light, there will be a creaking sound. It took us more than two hours to reach the enemy's front line. Keep in touch with the battalion with the code blowing on the walkie-talkie. There are too many weeds on the trees, and the visibility is poor at night. According to the prior agreement, the troops were scattered and concealed. We fired two red flares and the rifle machine gun landed on the uneven ground with a bang. The battalion also sounded the charge signal, and the sound of gunfire resounded through the night sky. The cunning enemy lost his temper and the machine gun rifle was shot down crazily. After observation, he basically found out all the enemy's firepower. Due to the steep hillside and the hidden angle of death, we returned to the camp at 3 am on the 6 th without any casualties.

On the morning of the 6th, the battalion commander called the cadres above the squad leader to the battalion headquarters for a meeting. First of all, battalion commander Tao Yulin explained to the whole battalion the intention of his superiors and the task of our battalion to capture Gonza. Battalion Commander Tao said: "According to the intelligence, it is estimated that a squadron on the defensive has more than 100 people, which is the remnant of the 56th Division defeated by Longling. Gongsa is the front position of the enemy guarding Huilong Mountain. Our battalion must capture Gongsa tomorrow (7 th) and annihilate the enemy. " Then, according to the reconnaissance of enemy firepower equipment on the evening of the 5 th, the deputy battalion commander Liang explained in detail the nine criss-crossing bunkers he found through the simple sand table. After discussion, it is agreed that the steep northern slope is unfavorable and the slow southern slope is easy to climb. It is best to send an attack force to lurk in front of the enemy position at night, attack the enemy suddenly at dawn, and then provide fire support from Dongshantou.

According to local residents, the enemy built strong fortifications after 1942 occupied Gonza. Then the battalion ordered the second company (actually only 90 people left) to be attached to the battalion assault platoon as the main attack, and moved from the south slope to the enemy position after dusk that day, and captured the enemy position at dawn on the 7 th. The third company and the small artillery platoon gave fire support at Dongshantou, and the communication class sent people to the second company for action.

After receiving the order, we returned to the position of the second company, and the company commander conveyed the order of the battalion: the remnants of the 56 th division, which was defeated by Longling, were beaten by our army, which was very embarrassing and demoralized. In particular, their retreat in Nankan Ba Maw has been cut off by our Indian Expeditionary Force, and our army has completely mastered the air superiority. Although the enemy has artillery, they dare not use it. This is what everyone has seen, and you can rest assured that you can attack boldly.

The assault platoon of the battalion of the second company served as the main attack. At dusk on the 6th, it bypassed the enemy line from the south slope and lurked ahead. At dawn on the 7th, capture enemy lines and annihilate the enemy. The third company and artillery platoon supported us at Dongshantou.

Before the action began, I said to you, "Brothers, don't forget that we are soldiers of the 200 th Division who destroyed the enemy's Kunlun Pass, made an expedition to Myanmar, fought against the ancients, and fought against Ketangji, and won great prestige in other places. It's time for us to serve our country. Everyone must go forward, destroy the enemy, and don't let any enemy escape! " The soldiers applauded warmly and their morale was extremely high. I went on to say, "As we all know, the Japanese devils are very tenacious, and we must never take them lightly. It seems that small things are very important, such as whether the weapon is faulty, whether the ammunition is filled according to the regulations, whether the kettle is full of water, whether the gas mask and first aid kit are brought, and so on. When the war starts tomorrow, we can't completely rely on the rear to supplement it, which is very difficult. You are all soldiers who have been through dozens of wars. This is very clear. " The soldiers applauded warmly again.

Before leaving on the evening of the 6th, the battalion commander and the deputy battalion commander came to the position to visit us. The battalion commander said, "You have been both offensive and defensive since you joined the war, and you have never lost a battle. Please don't forget that we are soldiers of the 200 th Division with a glorious tradition, and tomorrow we will win Gonza at all costs and destroy the enemy! I wish you success tomorrow! "

The second company commander also said to everyone: "65438+February 6 is already in the middle of winter. For example, in the northland, thousands of miles of snow have already fallen. The trees here are still lush as spring in March, without any chill. The weather is also very conducive to our lurking. " At the same time, we announced the hidden discipline: no smoking, bright lights; No whispering and coughing; When sneaking around, I would rather slow down than make any noise; In case the enemy finds out, no one can fight back without my command; The squad leaders in each row immediately check whether there is anything that makes noise on the soldiers and correct it immediately; Now we should arrange in advance the people who will stand guard after arriving at the place; After arriving at the lurking place, everyone except the brother on guard should rest on the spot to keep full of energy.

On the morning of 7th 1, we successfully reached the hiding place. At dawn on the 7th, the shelling of our army stopped, and the company commander Nong Guotai fired two red flares. The soldiers jumped to their feet, carrying bright bayonets, and rushed to the enemy lines like tigers descending the mountain. After reaching the enemy line, many low barbed wire were found. The enemy was in command, bullets and grenades rained down, the dust was flying, the smoke was filled, and we concentrated our fire on fighting back. However, the fortifications and obstacles on the enemy's positions were blown apart by our shells. Xie platoon leader led a platoon leader and two platoon leaders to rush into enemy positions from several gaps under the cover of fire. Our army suffered heavy casualties, and none of the soldiers cowered and braved the blood of their comrades to attack the enemy. I took advantage of the favorable opportunity to take two or three shifts to rush in quickly, immediately expanded the results, ordered the whole platoon to occupy favorable terrain, and used the captured enemy forts and traffic trenches to concentrate fire on supporting the high platoon leaders. Our platoon and the second company each occupied two or three enemy forts.

At dawn, the enemy's Grenade launchers poured in. Choking smoke and flying dust can't be seen clearly ten steps away. We didn't expect that the enemy had such a strong Grenade launcher firepower in advance, and they were in a stalemate, so our artillery couldn't support us.

Suddenly, my right thumb was interrupted by a bullet. I endured the severe pain, bit open the first aid kit, swallowed the painkiller and wrapped it up, and then continued to direct the battle. Suddenly, a dozen enemy soldiers retreated from the destroyed bunker along the broken traffic trench to the main fort. Xie Yunqing, the deputy platoon leader, is only fifty or sixty meters away from the enemy. He shouted, "Don't let the devil get away!" A burst of heavy artillery fire hit four or five, and eight or nine soldiers chased after them. Seeing enemy soldiers playing grenades, I quickly shouted, "Grenade, lie down!" " "The voice exploded in the left front of xie. Xie was shot in the head and threw himself to the ground. He bled profusely and died heroically. Nine soldiers were killed and one was injured. Ah! The heroic and respectable platoon leader Xie and his soldiers shed their last drop of blood to defend the motherland. To this day, I think of his dauntless spirit and sacrifice when he first led the troops behind enemy lines, and I still feel unspeakable sadness in my heart.

Xie, the deputy platoon leader, is from Taohuapu, Xinhua County, Hunan Province. At the end of 1946, our department was transferred from northern Yunnan and camped in the owner's house of Taohua Tofu Store, having a heart-to-heart talk with the landlord. It turned out to be Yunqing's brother, and his mother is still alive. I told Yun Qing the details of her heroic martyrdom in western Yunnan, and my mother and son cried bitterly, which made me extremely sad. I immediately reported to the battalion commander Ju Yunlong, who was Xie's company commander. That night, we raised some money to express our condolences to his mother and son. Talking to comfort the hero in the spirit of heaven also relieved me of a worry.

Due to our heroic fighting, nine bunkers in Gongsa were captured in one breath, leaving only 1 main bunker and a large number of scattered soldiers around. There are three machine guns in the bunker shooting at us from time to time, which is difficult to catch at the moment. The agricultural company commander sent an emissary to tell me that the battalion commander strictly ordered that Gongsa should be captured immediately at all costs, otherwise our company and platoon leader would look up and say that a rocket launcher had arrived and asked me to support them to attack the fortress with fire.

My third monitor, Yang, was killed, and the first monitor, Wenxiang Gu, was injured in the left arm. After dressing, he was asked to go down. He actually said, "Aren't you hurt, too?" Who will command us when we go down? "What a respectable soldier, refused to walk off the line of fire! After hearing what he said, the morale of other soldiers increased greatly, and I was extremely excited. I immediately rearranged and ordered Li Nancai, the second squad leader, to concentrate on Class Two and Class Three to support Company Two, so as to attract the enemy's attention to us and relieve the pressure of Company Two. Under the leadership of the company commander, the second company has jumped into the traffic trench less than 100 meters away from the enemy fort. Unfortunately, the company commander Nong fell in a pool of blood with his legs seriously injured, and Du Guangrong, the platoon leader, died. The second company continued to fight under the command of the platoon leader. Our rockets have occupied favorable terrain and fired twice in a row, tearing the enemy fortress upside down. Many stragglers stubbornly resisted and refused to surrender.

I remembered that the submachine gun magazine was empty, I was loading it sideways, and the enemy Grenade launcher came from all directions. My right thigh was severely hit by a hammer, and shrapnel penetrated my thigh, left shoulder and right leg, all of which were bruised by shrapnel, and my right leg was so heavy that I couldn't lift it. The choking smoke was suffocating.

Look at the casualties of soldiers on the ground. The monitor fell not far from my feet, with a big hole in his chest and fist and a lot of blood. This Zhongyuan man has been with me for three or four years, and he is like a brother every day. The past is vivid. I was seriously ill (typhoid fever) at 1942, but for the careful care of several monitor, I would have died. Today, two squad leaders fought bloody battles on the battlefield and made heroic sacrifices for the motherland. More than half of the soldiers who had been together for several years died, and I was in tears. I only know that the two squad leaders are from Xuchang, Henan, and I don't know where they are from or where they live. They are all heroes who participated in the enemy annihilation war in Kunlun Pass, expedition to the bronze drums in Myanmar and conquered Tangji. Mr. Gu is 30 years old, six years older than me. So far, their families don't know that he buried a stranger to defend his motherland.

The blood from my wound is still flowing, and the blood on the warehouse tube turns from red to purple-black. The wound is dull and painful, and my consciousness is getting blurred. I tried to restrain myself and slipped down the slope in a daze. Instinctively touching the gun, the pistol is not at the waist, but the submachine gun is gone. I know what it means for a soldier to lose his gun. No, find the gun even if you die! I looked up and saw a gun 40 meters away. I climbed onto the gun with my elbows propped up, my wound was like a knife, my eyes were shining, and my sweat was dripping like soybeans. I grabbed the gun, but I couldn't bring it back The belt was cut by shrapnel. I tore off the cloth and hid the holster under my neck.

The gunfire and explosions on the position are still fierce, and the soldiers are destroying the enemy under the command of the platoon leader. I can't stand it because of too much bleeding, and my eyes are black.

When I woke up, I didn't know when. I looked up at my watch, but I couldn't see clearly or the sun. Only then did I know that I slipped down the north slope and my clothes were torn to pieces. It's getting dark, and my whole body is numb, so it's hard to move half a step. I looked up and saw the lights on the mountain, heard people talking to us, and thought: I can't die here in vain, but people should know that I am still alive. But if you can't open your mouth, you can't walk half a step. Suddenly my hand touched my helmet. I took it off my neck and hung it on a twig. I beat it hard with my left hand holding the magazine. Really smart. I recognized the accent of the battalion commander and said, "platoon leader Zhao, why is there movement down the hill?" Take some people down and have a look. " Zhao is the platoon leader of a small artillery platoon. Four people, including Ye County, Shandong Province, and Zhao, came to me sparsely: "Who? Don't talk, shoot! " I knocked harder and louder. When they approached and recognized me, Zhao cried, "My God! You are still here, and all the casualties in the position have been found, but you have not been found. The battalion commander is still angry with us and must find you. " I can't talk with my fingers. Seeing my pale face and blank eyes, Zhao immediately sent a soldier back to the mountain to report to the battalion commander in detail. 10 minutes later, the stretcher cleans and bandages the health team of our regiment.

At dawn on the 8th, Guo Qi, the head of the regiment, Tao Yulin, the battalion commander, and Zhu, a company commander, visited all the wounded officers and soldiers, and learned that the enemy of Hongsa was completely annihilated, and only a few escaped. They want me to go to the rear to recuperate and return to the team as soon as possible.
