In the 11th year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty, Xiaogan County Records recorded Shen's poem "Climbing Dawushan": "The world is full of Ziyun, and the mountain gods make me soar. Moss embroidered stone stacked brocade, maple leaf frost cut crimson. The autumn clouds outside the threshold are very different, and the wind and rain in the middle are looking at the south bar. There is no news of Bai Zi in Tang Yan, and the waves roar in the sky. " Dawushan belongs to Dabie Mountains, with Jinding as its main peak, with an altitude of 8 13m. There used to be a temple (Dawu Temple) at the southeast foot of the temple, commonly known as the old temple. There are many Buddhist temples, including the sutra depository and the reading institute, beside the stream, resting on the high mountain. The old vines in front of the door are full of vitality and lush. There are ancient wells in the hospital, which are warm in winter and cool in summer, and maintain a fixed water level all the year round.

The mountains are undulating, the streams are vertical and horizontal, and the climate is refreshing. Due to the high altitude, low temperature, dense vegetation around the mountain, high humidity and evaporation of water vapor, light clouds and fog are formed, floating freely, sometimes hidden or light, sometimes covered with a hat, and sometimes wrapped like a belt. Every time the villagers use the change of mountain clouds to predict the weather, they all say that "there are rainy mountains and hats, and there are no rainy clouds around their waist."

Dawushan is also one of the famous old revolutionary bases at home and abroad. It is located on the two wings of Pinghan Railway and is the throat of north-south traffic. You can enter through the three passes, connect Henan and Anhui, and advance into the Central Plains. As early as the early days of the founding of the Party, Xu Haidong established the peasant self-defense forces based on Dawushan, which ignited the beacon of the peasant revolutionary armed struggle. During the period of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, it was still the outpost of the Central Plains Anti-Japanese War, and the Party Committee, administrative office and administrative organs of the Fifth Division of the New Fourth Army moved to Dawushan District successively. Dawushan District became the command center of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression in the border area of Hubei, Henan, Anhui, Hunan and Jiangxi.

Dawushan is the boundary mountain between Dawu County and Xiaochang County. Dawushan runs northeast and southwest, east to Wangmao Mountain in Xiadian, Dawu County, south to Xiaowu Township in Xiaochang County, west to Daxing Brain in Lilindian, Dawu County, and north to Mahouling, a new city in Dawu County.
