Add widgets to your iPhone home screen

The Today view widget gives you a quick look at the latest information from your favorite apps: check the day’s headlines, weather, calendar schedules, and more content. You can add widgets to your home screen to put this kind of information at your fingertips.

Open Today view

Swipe right from the left edge of the Home or Lock screen.

Move widgets from Today view to the Home screen

Open Today view, then scroll or search to find the widget you want.

Hold the widget until it starts to jiggle, then drag it off the right side of the screen.

Drag the widget to the desired location on the Home screen, then tap Done.

Edit Widgets

You can customize most widgets to display the information you want. For example, you can edit the Weather widget to see weather forecasts for your location or other areas. Or, you can customize Smart Stacking to rotate widgets based on your activity, time of day, and more.

On the Home screen, press and hold the widget to open the quick actions menu.

Tap Edit Widget when it appears (or tap Edit Stack if it’s a Smart Stack), then choose an option.

For example, for the Weather widget, you can tap Location, then select the location where you want to get the weather forecast.

For Smart Stacking, you can turn Smart Rotation off or on and reorder widgets by dragging next to them.

Tap the Home screen.

Remove a widget from the Home screen

Press and hold the widget to open the quick actions menu.

Tap Remove Widget (or Remove Stack), then tap Remove.

Allow access to Today view when iPhone is locked
