What should I do if the weather is hot and bloody?
There are many reasons for children's nosebleeds. Generally speaking, children before the age of 2 rarely have nosebleeds, because the nasal capillary network of children of this age is underdeveloped. The location of epistaxis in children is mostly in the capillary network area in front of bilateral nasal septum, also known as Lee's area. This vascular network is very superficial and distributed in the mucosa of nasal septum.
How to deal with it?
After the child has a nosebleed, he mainly uses physical methods to stop the bleeding. You can press your nose with both hands to stop bleeding.
Be careful not to let the child look up, and be sure to bow his head. If the head is not straight, blood can easily flow into the mouth through the nasal cavity, leading to suffocation.
Most children can stop bleeding by pressing to stop bleeding. If this method can't stop bleeding, they need to go to the otolaryngology department for local medication to stop bleeding. If the child has nosebleeds repeatedly, he should actively find out the reasons, find out whether there are systemic diseases, such as thrombocytopenia, coagulation dysfunction or blood system diseases, and find out the reasons for nosebleeds. Then there are the local causes of the nose, such as rhinitis in some children and abnormal blood vessels in the nose. Therefore, if this happens, you should actively seek medical advice and master the correct hemostasis method.
How to prevent it?
1, pay attention to your diet. Don't eat hot food or drink during nosebleeds. Instead, eat some warm and cool foods rich in protein, vitamins and iron, such as honey water, rice juice, milk and fruit juice, or eat some semi-liquid foods, such as porridge and noodles. Avoid spicy and hard food and eat more fresh vegetables and fruits.
2. Humidify and replenish water. In the dry season, the possibility of nosebleeds will increase. You can put a humidifier at home to let your child replenish more water.
3. Don't pick your nose. Repeated picking nose excrement can easily damage the nasal mucosa, so parents should educate their children to develop a good habit of not picking nose excrement.
